For the price this is a handy little tool. The way its designed allows for easy calibration of your table saw blade angle especially when the angle is not nominal. Also works very well when your doing crown molding and base boards to find the exact angle, my walls are a ways away from 90. I recommend it!

It has cost me hours of work and head banging. If you are working with exposed angles that must look good and fit properly, and you have one of these, then do yourself a big favor and throw it away, or burn it, or bury it, lest it might get close to another one and somehow reproduce itself! I'm building Octagon shaped tables and therefore requires accurate 22.5 degree angles. I built a table saw fixture so that I could faithfully reproduce the angle on the piece. I used this  to check my finished cuts - Big Mistake!

I have one of these, and it's off by about two degrees. The vernier scale made me think it'd be pretty accurate, but it's not. It can, however, measure lots of things a "normal" protractor can't. I would stick with the metal version! it's probably more accurate. I'll be buying one soon myself.
