Pantograph reviews. I was not going to purchase the pantograph due to the reviews. The price was fair, the box arrived on time, not damaged, packaged quite well. Took it out of the box, read the directions, figured out the ratio I wanted and on the first attempt it did what I expected the pantograph to do. It is great, I should have purchased one 10 years ago.

Has to be doctored to work. Weight put on two points to allow the lead to make a mark. Surface must be absolutely flat!!! Instructions are very understandable. When enlarging the lines are hard to control as any deviation from the original is magnified many time. Use a photocopier. It's better and cheaper.

The lead falls right apart when you try to use it. It makes a mark so light you can just barely see it, plus there are no instructions with it, I have bought other products and have never had a problem, but this was a bad investment.

The directions were very difficult to understand. It took a lot of trial and error to set it up correctly. I had an awful time trying to use this tool.

This just does not work. I can't get the lead to stay in the pin to save my life, as the locking mechanism is completely non-functional. The lead supplied is too long making the tracing pin too short- either you have to cut/break the lead or deal with the fact that the tracing pin is 8 mm off the paper. To stabilize the pantograph you need to drill holes in the table and bolt it down- or have a clamp. If you are trying to enlarge something just a bit, like from a diameter of 8 in to 10 in, then you have to destroy your original, constantly folding it or rolling it up to get it out of the way of the drawing pin.
I used one of these in grade school and I am pretty sure it worked. Not sure what went wrong.

Poor insructions. Tracing leads give very light reproduction. Use of unit is some times very jittery. Will be using artograph instead.
