Need a little extra time while gluing complex projects? Titebond Extend Wood Glue and Titebond II Extend Wood Glue are a slower setting versions of Titebond Original Wood Glue and offers superior performance in a broad range of applications! Particularly useful in edge and face gluing and curved railings and other assemblies that require more time to align. Titebond Extend and Titebond Extend II develops a bond stronger than wood itself, offers excellent sandability, provides a translucent glue line, and is unaffected by finishes. It is compatible with all common species of wood, as well as particleboard, MDF, plywood and other porous materials. Titebond II Extend Wood Glue combines weatherproof performance (ANSI Type II water-resistance) with a slower speed of set. It's ideal for exterior applications that involve more complex assemblies. In addition, Titebond Extend II is compatible for use with Hot Press and radio frequency (R-F) gluing systems

I can't understand why this product is not more widely available. I just completed a complicated "glue-up" on oak with no problems whatsoever. The glue is nowhere near as tacky as other Titebond products so that takes a bit of getting used to. The product is also much clearer. So squezze out is much less noticeable. I suggest keeping the project clamped for 12-24 hours to obtain a stronger bond.

This glue works very well and the extended set time is great for complicated projects. Also, any squeezeout dries to a light color that is not so noticeable.

The extended open time was critical for assembly of my latest project. Titebond II Extend worked great.

I have not been able to find this product in town. This is my second order from Rockler for the Titebond extended set glue. It is the best for my projects which require a longer than normal assembly time. I wish I had used it on some of my early projects. I also use Titebond II for my projects to be used outdoors. This product I can find locally. It also works great.

I started using Titebond II and then I ran into the extended one. This one gives you 15-20 minutes of open glue time. Now this is one of three I keep on my shelf. It's hard to choose what project to use with three different glue. I use both of Titebond II and Titebond III.

This turned out to be the perfect final purchase for a recent project. This walnut and peruvian walnut crib has 46 slats, which meant 92 mortises and 92 tenons. Knowing my normal Titebond III wouldn't give me the time I needed to finish assembly before setting, I needed a glue with a longer open time and further entrusted Titebond with my project. The long assembly times were no problem for Titebond Extend and my project seems to hold just as it would with Titebond III.

"I only get to visit the Pittsburgh store once a year so I make sure to make my visit count. The staff there is always helpful and very patient as I zip from aisle to aisle like a child in a toy store."
