I've read the complaints about them being oversized, but I see that as a bonus. I've always followed the suggestion of wooden toy maker David Wakefield and crimped them with a pair of pliers rather than sanding them. This reduces the diameter just enough to allow easy insertion and provides channels for the glue. Works like a champ!

I was very satisfied with this product.

I ordered some of each size and found that about half of each size had to be sanded down to the final size of 7/32 and 11/32. Otherwise, I am pretty satisified with the products.

The diameters of the finished axles is not always consistent and required some final fitting. This seems to be a relatively recent problem as I never had this in the past.

I use quite a few of the 7/32" size. They are very nice. The only problem I've found is they are usually at nominal diameter or sometimes even a little larger, so they don't fit readily into a 7/32" hole. I've sanded the shanks down sometimes, as others have suggested, but it's easy to get a tapered axle and a sloppy fit that way. The best way I've found to provide clearance when the axle doesn't fit a 7/32" hole is to use a #2 bit. The diameter is nominally 0.221", a couple mils over a nominal 7/32" axle.

I have been ordering this product for several years. 50 Packages at a time, and have found that, while good, over half of them are over size and need extensive sanding in order to fit.
