The plan is very well done, with explicit and detailed listings of parts and the proper steps in constructing this grandfather clock. The design is also to my liking: simple, straight forward, and handsome.

This Grandfather clock finishes out at seven feet tall, and is a beautiful piece. I built mine using ash lumber and English Chestnut stain, and many coats of polyurethane varnish. Once complete, I decided to take it another step and had the bottom door glass etched to coordinate with the design on the face of the clock itself. As an afterthought, we had our family name etched into the bottom of the door as well. This project is one I have long wanted to do, and although I put in many hours, now that it is complete, I have the satisfaction of having created a NEW family heirloom.
"I am disabled and my doctors advised me to get a hobby of some kind. After a lot of consideration and talks with my 13yr old son, we decided on woodworking. We turned an extra bedroom into a workshop and we now both just love it. I have done business with many companies on the internet and on the phone ( not just woodworking companies) and i have never found a company that gets an A+ on everything like Rockler does. Rockler has very kind people that treat you well over the phone and they stand behind their products 100% like no other company i have ever done business with. You can be sure that my son and myself will always be Rockler customers." -
