I ordered this because my son wanted me to help install handles and knobs on all cabinets and drawers,(90 pieces). I loved the center punch tool that was worth the whole cost, even when used without the jig/templet. The only problem I had was his custom made cabinets had some extra deep drawers and the plastic templet would not adjust deep enough to center knobs height wise of drawer fronts. If I remember right it would only adjust to center an 8 3/4" drawer front depth. I would suggest to offer another template to center up to 12"/14" at least. And also add indexing on templates down to 1/8".

I just finished installing a bunch of pulls on kitchen cabinets. I waited for this jig to arrive for the project. Here are my observations:
1. Right and left doors need the jig to be reversed. There is no easy way to do this, the marking for adjusting are OK only, making this task quite challenging.
2. Making sure the hole plate (and wood stop - see below) is square is not that easy. I had to buy a separate square to do this.
3. There are not enough holes on the hole plate. My holes needed 128 mm spacing, had to drill holes into the plate. Would have been nice if they were factory perfect and present at the get go. Other jigs have the 128 mm, so apparently not that uncommon. There are probably others.
4. The stop (wood block) is very easy to have tilt and thus not square when tightening the knob. This can affect the spacing significantly! Would be nice if that block would a tighter fit with the t-track so it is always square and does not need as much fiddling around with to into the correct position.
5. Hole plate of jig not tall enough.
A few obvious things that I learned, and experts probably know all too well: if there are paint drips or other irregularities along the edges of the doors and drawers, there will be problems with the precision of the hole placement. Also be careful with rounded edges, jig more difficult to keep in perfect position. Also, beginners (like me) should be warned that even if the holes are in the correct spot on the surface, drilling the holes at an angle - right left/up down (way too easy to do) will result in the handle not being in the right place. I found using a level on the drill helped get straight holes (at least in up down direction.
If the pulls end up not in the perfect position, enlarging the holes in the specific direction the screw needs to go, gives some room for adjusting up/down/right/left.
Overall a great tool with some room for improvement.

After installing pulls on cabinets for years without
making a jig for repeat work, I finally bought this tool without hesitation. I have only one complaint, like others, I agree that the printing on the face of the jig iself doesn't really stand out, esp with the pull dimension or center-to-center holes under normal shop lighting. You have to tilt the jig at times to make sure you've got the right center holes. Other than that, I love it. Thank You Rockler

Great! Simply Great! Having suffered through 'jigging it' myself in the past, this sure saves time, particularly on repetitive mountings, and eliminates guess work and mistakes! And it sure saves a lot of time! A bargain at 2x the price!

The jig was very helpful installing my 31 drawer and cabinet pulls. However, I'm not sure that I used it as it was intended. I would have appreciated better directions.
Editor's note: The package photos and illustrations are intended as the basic instructions for these. A step by step approach would be:
1. Determine position of handle to be installed.
2. Mark center line.
3. Choose JIG IT boring width needed.
4. Position JIG IT for correct spacing and lock guide on T-Track.
5. Align JIG IT over center line.
6. Mark locations with a punch.
7. Remove JIG IT and drill.
The stop-block is used for repetitive drawer pull attachments.
The tape measure can be applied to the top edge of the aluminum t-track to use as a reference when positioning the jig.
