This drawer pull jig was worth every penny and more. I used it to install 58 kitchen and bath pulls. It made the job easy and with truely accurate results. No problems encountered. It worked wonderfully. Bob F

I ordered this because my son wanted me to help install handles and knobs on all cabinets and drawers,(90 pieces). I loved the center punch tool that was worth the whole cost, even when used without the jig/templet. The only problem I had was his custom made cabinets had some extra deep drawers and the plastic templet would not adjust deep enough to center knobs height wise of drawer fronts. If I remember right it would only adjust to center an 8 3/4" drawer front depth. I would suggest to offer another template to center up to 12"/14" at least. And also add indexing on templates down to 1/8".

I just finished installing a bunch of pulls on kitchen cabinets. I waited for this jig to arrive for the project. Here are my observations:
1. Right and left doors need the jig to be reversed. There is no easy way to do this, the marking for adjusting are OK only, making this task quite challenging.
2. Making sure the hole plate (and wood stop - see below) is square is not that easy. I had to buy a separate square to do this.
3. There are not enough holes on the hole plate. My holes needed 128 mm spacing, had to drill holes into the plate. Would have been nice if they were factory perfect and present at the get go. Other jigs have the 128 mm, so apparently not that uncommon. There are probably others.
4. The stop (wood block) is very easy to have tilt and thus not square when tightening the knob. This can affect the spacing significantly! Would be nice if that block would a tighter fit with the t-track so it is always square and does not need as much fiddling around with to into the correct position.
5. Hole plate of jig not tall enough.

A few obvious things that I learned, and experts probably know all too well: if there are paint drips or other irregularities along the edges of the doors and drawers, there will be problems with the precision of the hole placement. Also be careful with rounded edges, jig more difficult to keep in perfect position. Also, beginners (like me) should be warned that even if the holes are in the correct spot on the surface, drilling the holes at an angle - right left/up down (way too easy to do) will result in the handle not being in the right place. I found using a level on the drill helped get straight holes (at least in up down direction.
If the pulls end up not in the perfect position, enlarging the holes in the specific direction the screw needs to go, gives some room for adjusting up/down/right/left.
Overall a great tool with some room for improvement.

After installing pulls on cabinets for years without
making a jig for repeat work, I finally bought this tool without hesitation. I have only one complaint, like others, I agree that the printing on the face of the jig iself doesn't really stand out, esp with the pull dimension or center-to-center holes under normal shop lighting. You have to tilt the jig at times to make sure you've got the right center holes. Other than that, I love it. Thank You Rockler

Great! Simply Great! Having suffered through 'jigging it' myself in the past, this sure saves time, particularly on repetitive mountings, and eliminates guess work and mistakes! And it sure saves a lot of time! A bargain at 2x the price!

The jig was very helpful installing my 31 drawer and cabinet pulls. However, I'm not sure that I used it as it was intended. I would have appreciated better directions.

Editor's note: The package photos and illustrations are intended as the basic instructions for these. A step by step approach would be:
1. Determine position of handle to be installed.
2. Mark center line.
3. Choose JIG IT boring width needed.
4. Position JIG IT for correct spacing and lock guide on T-Track.
5. Align JIG IT over center line.
6. Mark locations with a punch.
7. Remove JIG IT and drill.
The stop-block is used for repetitive drawer pull attachments.
The tape measure can be applied to the top edge of the aluminum t-track to use as a reference when positioning the jig.

This was so easy. I put on 24 handles in half a day. Both drawers and cupboards, my kitchen looks awsome now. Next weekend I am going to do the bathrooms :-)

Great, simple little jig! Works perfectly in repeating pull and knob position on regular depth drawers. It could use an extension for deeper drawers, but the work-around is really easy anyway.

This jig helped me out tremendously but, there were only a couple of things that kept this jig from being rated very good or excellent. First the jig does not accomodate any drawer front that is taller than 8 inches and the markings are hard to read. I would suggest a taller marking plate that would fit 10 inch drawer fronts and print the markings in red for better visibility.

The stop (wood) could be deeper and thinner.
Very nice. I can't understand why anyone would need directions-what's to explain- if your confident enough to punch holes in cabinets you should know.

Fantastic tool! This jig saved me a ton of time and made the installation of these bar pulls a breeze. It didn't take very long to install all of the pulls for my kitchen and I had quite a few of them. Because I was using bar pulls I had to set the jig twice for each pull, but it was still a huge help. These pulls can be especially tough to install as if they are just a bit off their size will accentuate any error. I highly recommend this jig, it's well worth the money. The punch tool alone is worth it.

Nice jig, and one of the nicest ones I could find on the web. I had to do the whole house, which was about 50 knobs and 40 pulls. For knobs, the punch is a nice feature, much better than using a punch and hammer. I used masking tape and measured the horizontal center and vertical distance, then used the plate and punch to mark the hole. For the pulls, the jig really shines. The centerline really makes this job easy since you can tighten down the jig after perfectly level (use a small level), them move to vertical centerline to your masking tape center mark. Punch the correct spacing, and your done with the tool.
This tool is perfect, although each user should remember that the cabinet makers are far from perfect. You'll find that adjacent cabinets are not level with each other, so you'll need to adjust the level each time you move from cabinet/drawer to the next. It sounds tedious, but this tool has made this job very easy.
A bit of advice, when you have two pulls close to each other.. just draw you horizontal line level with the adjacent knob/pull. If you don't, knobs close to each other will look uneven (due to door height differences). Good luck, it's worth the money.

The jig is OK but not as nice as I would like. The stop used for positioning barely catches the edge of the chamfered cabinet door or drawer. You have to be very careful when using it or the marking will be off. When using it on cabinet doors it needs to be set up for both right and left opening doors. I can't figure out how it can be used on both type with one setting. There may be a way to do it, but it comes with no instructions. It is fairly simple to figure it out, but some instructions would be nice just as a way of confirming the setting is correct. It comes with a tape measure that can be attached to T-track. There are no pictures or instructions on where to attach it.

Could be a bit deeper for large drawers.

The jig is very easy to use (Its a combination of the basic unit and a long section of aluminium), and while you may have to switch the orientation of the tool due to clearances, it is easy to align - as it works off a center line. You should put some masking tape on the top center of the drawer so you can mark that. Using a level for all but the longest pulls is probably overkill - I did not and it looks fine. If you have a really wide drawer (I have a couple of pot drawers) the jig is not big enough to mark them - but this is rare problem. So I graded it a five.

Nicely made. Did not come with any instructions, but fairly obvious how to use it if you have any skills and/or common sense, but I am sure there are a few tricks to learn like with any tool - so if there are, instructions would have helped. Takes a little bit of careful and precise effort to set it up, but then once it is set, you quickly make your perfectly reproducible punch marks. Then you may have to reset it for different size drawers or if you place two knobs far apart on one drawer. Without this tool the job would be MUCH harder and you'd probably not get nearly as good a result. Pretty much a must have if you want professional looking knob placement.

Good product, maybe even excellent, but not suitable for our drawer pull project. That's because the drawer fronts were too tall --- the jig couldn't even reach the midpoint of the drawers. The jig face is only about 6 inches high -- it just won't work with any drawer that is much taller than that.
Also no instructions were included -- you literally are on your own. This is essentially the normal draw-pull jig plus the blue bar.

Useless for routed edge drawers, will not work for tall drawers (file drawers, pot drawers). Hard to read. If you take it apart and draw center lines and just use the template you can drill accurate holes, but then I could do that with a home made jig and spend my money on other tools. It is well made though, just useless to me.

While the basic concept is fine, the jig can only be used for drawers that are no higher than about 7 inches. The first two drawers I needed it for were 8" and 10" high, which I wouldn't consider unusual sizes at all. About 3 inches needs to be added to the length of the jig before I would recommend anyone buying this tool.

This jig only receives a "very good" rating from me. What an excellent idea! It proved to be very useful in my kitchen cabinet installation. I only have two complaints and one additional suggestion:
1. The template needs to be deeper. Many kitchen cabinets have drawer fronts that are 10-12" tall. This jig only allows you to center on a 6-8" tall drawer front. I will have to make my own jig to complete four 10" deep drawers.
2. The clearances between the stop block and the t-track need to be improved. The stop block should slide on the t-track so that it remains square at all times. The current design allows it to slip and go out of square. This is a major design flaw if you don't watch for that to happen during use.
3. It would be nice if you would offer the kit with additional lengths of t-track. I would suggest 12", 24", and 36". This allows for applications on the most common cabinet widths.
Fix these three issues and you will have one awesome jig that could be used for many tasks outside of just adding drawer pulls and cabinet knobs.
I found that it makes a great layout template for transferring hinge pilot holes from one drawer front or cabinet door to another. We had a couple drawers that were damaged during shipment and needed replacing. The replacement drawers from the factory were not pre-drilled for hinges etc. This jig made that task very simple!

I haven't used the jig yet, but I expect it will help me install my drawer pulls and it is easier than trying to make my own jig. I was disappointed to find that there are no instructions in the box The other disappointment is the stop block which does not mate at a firm 90 degree angle with the t-bar. This is a problem because the block could move and throw off the jig. I am going to either make a new block that fits properly or redrill the screw hole to elongate it so I can slide the block up to the bar for a tight fit. The other issue I see is that the drill plate does not have any indexing lines to help you line it up straight to the t-bar. It is good to be able to read the other reviews so I can anticipate any issues with using this jig. I paid a lot of money for my cabinet doors and drawer fronts and I don't want to mess them up. All-in-all the jig quality looks good, but needs work on a few of the other details for this to be a great product.

I put in cabinets for a major box store and putting the pulls on drawers was one of the hardest parts of installation. I ordered this hoping it would help me but it turned out to be useless. It took only one set of cabinets to see it did not work for me. I had to readjust every time the draw size changed and the wood stop was too short to hold it steady. I tried to return it but it had to be in the same box it came in to return it and by the time I had used the guide, the box had gotten thrown out. The guide now sit with all the other useless tool I have bought over the years.

The product looks ok, but:
(1)it should include more/other standard hole widths;
(2)it should include detailed instructions on use;
Finally, the price is a bit steep for what you get but it appears to be the only product out there right now.Having said what's wrong, the Jig-It is far easier than whomping up my own jig, and, once you spend all the extra time figuring it out (that should have been explained, had there been instructions), it works fairly well.
