This blade gives smooth, fast rips in hardwoods and softwoods. The combination of a rigid blade body and razor sharp flat top carbide teeth will provide a "glue line" precision cut. These blades are precision balanced and can be used in gang-rip operations. The ideal working range is from 3/4" to 2-3/4" thick. This blade also features laser cut anti-vibration slots, practically eliminating the vibration that resonates in standard blades. With this ultimate ripping blade, there is no need for stabilizers. The Perma-SHIELD® coating covers the blade plate and cutting edge in a protective layer, reducing heat build-up. Perma-SHIELD® blades resist binding in large volume cutting, reducing subsequent blade warp. The coating lubricates the blade, allowing it to spin freely, and eliminates pitch and debris build-up on the blade. Also available with the economical Silver I.C.E™ coating.

I bought this to rip some 4/4 hard maple and it cut through it with no problems. Left no burn marks either. I think this is a great saw blade for the price.

My underpowered saw was struggling a little with 4/4 stock and a LOT with 6/4 and above, to the point where wood scorching was unavoidable. This blade fixed the problem, allowing high feed rates with 4/4 and moderate ones with thicker stock. Most importantly, the scorching and stalling I experienced is a thing of the past. I don't think I would call it a "glue line" rip, and the finish wasn't quite as good as the Forrest blade I was using when the saw didn't stall but overall I'm very satisfied with the quality of this product.

We use this blade in our shop for ripping down 2x4's into 2X2's and it couldn't be better. The cleanest cuts I've ever seen from a table saw.

I really like this blade so far. I use this one only for ripping (as the name states) and I couldn't be more satisfied. I use a Freud combination blade for cross-cuts. 5 out of 5 for this one. I can't wait to try it out on some thick stock. I'm sure it will cut like butter.

I was working on a project with 2 inch oak using a Freud 40 tooth combination blade. After throughing the circut twice I got to looking at a new blade. This one is the trick. It cuts great with a jointer like edge on thicker wood. Haven't used it on anything smaller yet but for those bigger jobs this blade will work well for you.

I know this blade has been receiving high marks from many reviewers, and it may in fact be a real "rip hog", but for the work I do, this blade was a big let down. To begin, I tried it out for performance on a 1x6 wide piece of claro walnut and on my first rip on the new blade I was dismayed at the blow-out along the bottom of the cut. Also, the tool marks along the cut were very noticeable, and I would never attempt to glue anything in that state. So much for the rip.
But the real reason I bought this baby was because it is a flat top grind no "bat ears", and I wanted to set it up with a special jig system that I set up for box joints based on accurate 1/8" increments and a mitre corner spline jig. Again, first pass on the box joint jig, and again I was dismayed to find that the saw kerf was useless for my jig because this blade is actually 4-5 thousands of an inch over .125". Sure, that doesn't sound like much until you compound that error over 16 finger joints 2" and your corners won't fit. And again, on the back of the box joint, the nasty blow-out at the top of the joint, where depth of cut varies. I don't know if this blade was a one off blem, but I don't have the time or inclination to sort out such a large company's issues taking another chance on a replacement.
Very disappointed with Frued for packaging and selling a product with 2 blatant errors right on the blade that lead one to by such a product! glue line rip and 1/8".

It's getting harder to get a good rip blade with a .125 inch kerf and this blade qualifies for this reason. Very sturdy, stays sharp and cuts well.
