Clamp-It Bar Clamp feature a fixed head with a comfortable ergonomic handle and moveable tailpiece. Throat depth of 3/4" (to the center of the jaw) automatically centers clamping pressure on the edge of Clamp-It Assembly Squares.
Available in three sizes:
5" clamp has a 4-1/2" maximum opening capacity.
8" clamp has a 7-1/2" maximum opening capacity.
12" clamp has an 11-1/2" maximum opening capacity.
TIP: To calculate maximum stock width when used with Clamp-It Assembly Squares, subtract the square's 2" width from the clamp's maximum opening capacity.

Bought Adjustable Assembly Square, which is great. Saw these clamps in photo. They are OK but not what I expected. The clamp has a very shallow throat. I have used them with the Adjustable Assembly Square they work OK if you are clamping right at the edge but anything deeper forget it.

I have a variety of sizes of this product now, and they work well when they work, but a couple of times, I have gotten one which didn't bite, maybe the teeth weren't well formed. The Rockler store was happy to swap them for good ones. Inspect new ones in the store for good bite before you take them home. Otherwise, they are perfect for their intended use as well as many other uses, like hanging hooks for goggles and dust masks.

OK, just not what I thought I was ordering. Very shallow throat allows you to clamp only at the edge.

Just one comment. Do not buy these unless as part of the "Clamp-It" system otherwise they are useless for other application.

I bought the clamps to use with the mini square. It is difficult to position them so that two can be used on square. Normally one is right against bottom surface clamp sits on. This makes turning the handle to open or close clamp quite difficult. Also the sliding end of the clamp tends to slide away from tight position when you haven't got a third hand to keep it in place and screw end hasn't advanced far enough to hold the piece in tension. In other words, it's working correctly just not conveniently.
