I used these on an old Ohio Forge 14" bandsaw.
It had what appeared to be metal blocks, some of which were missing. The Cool Blocks run more quietly, fit perfectly, and were quick and easy to install. I determined correct sizing by measuring the holders on my saw, and looking up the Cool Blocks product number info on the web.

Product states it's 1/2" x 1/2". When I attempted to install them on my 14" Delta, they were very loose - so loose they could not be tightened in place without installing a shim. The metal blade guides I removed from my saw were exactly .500" and fit very snug in the blade guide assembly. The cool blocks measured .450". I contacted Olson Saw regarding this problem. They told me I needed to tighten them down. I'll be returning these as they're of no use to me. Maybe I'll try the Ceramic Guide Blocks. I'd love to install some Carter bearing guides, but I just put $200 into my Vintage 1945 Delta, getting it tuned up. Cuts straight with no blade drift! Right now, I need some other things before I put another $140 into it.

I normally run Lignum Vitae guide blocks in my saw that I cut myself, and they work really, really well. But I was given a set of these by a friend and decided to try them in my saw {a 1940's 12" Walker-Turner, awesome saw!}. They work about as well as my wooden blocks did at a substantially higher price. I guess if you just want something to plop right in, these would be the way to go.

But did not fit my Ryobi 9" bandsaw may need new holders for these cool blocks.
