This is a superbly machined tool. Last year I tried building one of my own out of wood. It was flimsy and off by a degree or two. This one is rock-solid and right on the money.

The one I received was not square - off by more than the thickness of two sheets of copy paper. A replacement was better - off by one sheet.
For me, that was a large error. If you are turning a bowl it would be insignificant.
