Though I was a little skeptical about the quality I would probably get at the "GREAT" price, I have NEVER got a dud product from Rockler, so I took the risk! Well, that was ten months ago, this allows me to say, thanks Rockler! To say I have used these bits extensively would be an understatement, everything from 1/4" dowel holes to 2 1/8" counter-bores for ball-bearings { I sometimes make temporary tooling from wood for a small factory }. I have NEVER been disappointed { oh of course I would LOVE a set that incremented by 1/64" - BUT that would be too rich for my blood }. For a production shop these may not be the "best" there is, but for a serious amateur they are pretty darn good, certainly a BEST BUY in my book. Once again, thanks Rockler, and keep those great deals coming.

I used the Forstner bit to bore a flat bottom hole and inserted a small Christmas type light bulb up from the bottom and then put a old time glass telephone knob over the bulb and down into the bore hole and Voila! We have a night lite.

At the sale price this set is a good value. I purchased it to use for jobs I would prefer not to use my high end bits for; drilling faucet holes in a resin sink I installed in the shop for example.
The bits perform very well. I usually get rid of the blow molded cases that come with my purchases but this one is actually quite nice and holds all the bits securely.

Great starter set for the casual woodworker like me. Would recommend this set for anyone needing a basic set with a full range of sizes.

Good value for the money. Nice to have a complete set.
They cut very smoothly. TIP- use low RPM and cut slowly and clean the cutters out frequently, don't overheat and they will last a long time.

I only bought the 1/2 inch bit - very good quality. I've drilled clean holes quickly in maple, alder, and mahogany. If you plan to use a particular size bit really often I would advise laying out the dough and buying a carbide bit, otherwise these bits are a great value.

Great price/quality ratio. The sizes that come with this set should be almost all you would need. I just got them and used a few of the bits and they cut clean and fast. I assume that they might need sharpening more often than higher quality bits, but I haven't owned them long enough to say yet.

I am a beginning woodworker. Found the bits to be as good as others I had bought individualy. This is certainly a better way to get a quality product at a great price. They cut cleanly and efficiently and the storage case is a great space saver.

Great value. Easily cut smooth holes in end grain walnut, straight from the box. With a little diamond honing they cut very quickly with a ribbon shaving from the chipper.
May require more frequent sharping than more expensive bits. How much more resharpening is yet to be determined ... still sharp. A full set of bits at a fraction of the cost spent on some single bits is worth a few minutes of honing every now and then.

Excellent bits I use them all the time. Bought another set to give to a friend for Christmas and he is very happy with them. I actually drilled into a metal brad with one and it still cut great afterwords.

I have started using Forstner bits more frequently in the last couple of years to construct furniture pieces with nothing but dowels and glue. Needed a decent set of bits and Rockler had these on sale, so I purchased them. I have used several of the bits since purchase and am pleased with them. Excellent price, shipping and service.

I used this product to cut holes in a 4" Oak timber to add legs for a bench. The bits are very sharp and cut very quick. The case hinge cracked the first time I used the set.

I put one of these exceptional Forstner bits to use almost immediately. I bored out and replaced a broken door-hinge dowel on an antique Chinese cabinet. I very am impressed with the quality of these bits. Thanks for the great reduction in price! I paid a price that is equivalent to the price of two Forstner bits at the hardware store! I can't wait until I get a chance to use them again.

My orders to Rockler are always prompt, accurate and well packaged. These forstner bits are (I believe) the best value on the market. They arrive in a tough, tight case and they are not only ready to use, but designed so that they can be honed easily so they will last many years. Let's hear it for Rockler!

I've used Forstner bits in the past and they are great. Today, I used my one of the bits to help two of my neighbors' children with their 'pine wood derby' cars by drilling out the locations for the weights they will use for their cars. They liked the way the drills left a flat bottom hole in which to add the weights. There is nothing more satisfying than helping a child with a project.

I guess for the price its not bad but the quality is just not there, all of the bits seemed to be nicked and damaged you have to hone them first before you can use them I'll never buy these again!

I have already used these bits several time, and they do a good job. One thing I would encourage anyone to do is NOT buy "cheap" bits. I've got several inexpensive sets I've bought through the years and they just don't do the job....this are well worth the money.

Bounces around a little bit on harder woods. But the product works great for making precise small holes without leaving a hole in the back of something thin. Great DEAL!!!
