Elbows are necessary whenever ductwork changes direction, such as, from the dust collector to an overhead mainline and when connecting individual machines to branch lines. Available for both 2-1/2" and 4" hose.

I fully expected to find a male and female connection to work with my other tools. I was going to send them back but it would cost almost as I paid to return them.

5) Submitted by George Sokol, from Maricopa, AZ on 9/2/2009 Customer Rating: The reason I ordered the 2.5" elbow was to provide a smooth path for the air that was restricted by bent hoses. The elbows I recieved were not an improvement to the bent hose. The inside curve of the part was not smooth transison and would restrict airflow and possably create a spot for clogs.

One thing I absolutely don't understand, though - this is intended to provide a smooth transition from one pipe or hose to another. Why then does it have a sharp, right-angle corner on the inside of the elbow, rather than a smooth bend? What's really odd about this is that the outside of the elbow bends smoothly, yet the inside mold is sharp? This means, among other things, that there is a really thick chunk of plastic (from the smooth outside to the right-angle on the inside), which is unnecessary and probably increases cost somewhat as well.

7) Submitted by Gus Minjares, from Missoula, MT on 4/22/2011 Customer Rating: I bought the 2-1/2" elbow and installed it inside my Shop vac on the end of the input hose, this causes the incoming air to rotate around the inside of the vac instead of coming directly at the filter. So far this cyclonic action seems to keep my filter cleaner. I did this after mounting a thin baffle in front of the shop vac.
