I recently purchased a new machine and needed to rearrange my shop which then required that I change the dust collection plumbing. I used several 4 inch 'y' connectors blast gates and clear flex hose in addition to a couple of these 'T's' The 'T's were used on the inlet side of two dust collectors that I put in parallel with each other. When I made my drum sander mobile I no longer needed a dedicated dust collector for it so I mounted both dust collectors on a base and used the 'T's' to join the inlets into one.
I used a 'Y' to join the dust collector exhausts before going into a cyclone.

These connectors, like the "Y" connectors, are difficult to install plastic ducting on to. This is because, unlike the tapered stubs on the plastic blast gates, the ends of the connectors are straight. This problem is emphasized when trying to install ducting in confined areas such as between ceiling joists. I found it necessary to trim the plastic duct ends almost down to the wire to help reduce the difficulty of installation.
