The JET JWL-1642EVS 16" x 42" EVS PRO Wood Lathe is a one of a kind machine for the true wood turner. With a 1.5 HP motor and electronic inverter, you can operate the machine at any speed from 50 to 3,200 RPM. Cam-lock mechanisms allow adjustments of headstock, tailstock and tool rest base without having to use any tools at all.

Just being able to dial-in a needed speed is great. Lathe is very heavy and solid-it makes turning so much more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this lathe to anyone needing to step up to a full size lathe.

What can I say - plenty of power and handles the large pieces quite nicely. I do this as a hobby and sell a few pieces so this works very well for me. I would recommend this one to anyone that asked and would buy another if I had the need.
