Not a "perfect" saw, but since just about everything these days comes out of China, this Jet is above average in this respect. "Made in Taiwan" is far superior, which is where the this JET comes from. Having worked with Asian manufacturing for over 15 years and more than 2 dozen trips, I do have some experience regarding the Asian "general manufacturing practices". The parts generally went together well, the one exception being the sliding table. It is quite dificult to adequately tighten it without the mounts deflecting and mis-aligning the table. I made some shims to fill the space between the sliders frame and the monting rails which substantially improved the assembly. It still requires considerable work and adjustment to realize the full potential of the slider, but keep in mind this is NOT a $20,000.00, 7,000 pound mill. It runs nice, dust collection is very good, the blade guard is very good, all in all a nice machine. I don't like the gravity secured blade plates, but most are. I find it best to drill and tap the tabs so the guard can be leveled and tightly secured to the table. I do however, work with a lot of small precise wood pieces, so with larger boards it's no issue. I've heard the small cog-belt blade height system is a problem, I guess it always makes sense to turn the handles somewhat gently. Unless the trunion is rammed against the stops, the belt will probably last for many years. An ape can break most anything. If it is a problem, I will replace it with a small chain (probably bicycle type).
Again, it is a really nice saw package.
Definitely Recommended!
