Awesome...simply awesome. I did not want to spring for the $139 K3, simply because I wasn't sure how much I would need the jig. However, after using it for a couple key sections in some on-going projects, I'm now hooked. I don't think that I will drill for dowels ever again...EVER!
So far I've tried the Kreg Jr. to joint a couple wood drawer slides for a vanity I'm building. I've completed 90% of the joinery with dowels, and I'm frankly tired of the fact that no matter how hard I try, I'm always slightly off (1/16" is enough to really make a difference). The Kreg Jr let me drill the remaining joints in 1/4 of the time.
Another project that I just finished with the Kreg Jr is some closet shelves. The shelves are a U shape, and I've hesitated to hang the center shelf (i.e. bottom of the U shape) because I didn't want to add additional supports (for aesthetic reasons), dowels weren't an option, and nails/brads wouldn't have been strong enough. After receiving the Kreg today, I was finally able to hang the shelf with pocket joints (drilling the ends of the center shelf into the sides of the two side shelves), and it is strong. I was honestly quite surprised at how strong the joints were and how stable the new shelf is.
Now I'm using it to assemble a hall table that I'm making out of reclaimed white oak. The screws do a great job of cutting into some VERY tough wood.
Although I'll probably buy the K3 kit eventually, I don't regret buying the Kreg Jr, because it really serves its purpose, and I'll be able to use it for most of my projects.

I have attempted various projects for our house and have been unsuccessful at making joints and/or square corners. This jig made it simple and was truly easy to use. My first attempt using this product was remarkable and my table project was a big hit with my wife and children. In fact they wanted to know where I bought the tables and were amazed at the quality. Thanks Kreg, you have rekindled my passion for woodworking!

This is a community/school theatre godsend. If you make canvas or hardwall flats out of 1x stock you need this jig. No more plywood corner blocks and straps for your rails and stiles. You can skin the flats immediately after assembly. The joints are strong enough to withstand the twisting that occurs when someone tries to "lay" a flat instead of floating it to the floor. Once you show them the basics, a crew of high school kids can assemble a show's worth of frames out of pre-cut stock in a a matter of hours. (Be sure to buy an extra face clamp so you can get an assembly line going.) This jig pays for itself (in time and materials) with the first show.

I have had and used this tool for over two years now. One of the sliding legs for depth adjustment snapped as I carelessly pulled on it. I looked and looked for a replacement and couldn't find one anywhere. Went back to KREG.COM and contacted their support via email and asked where I could purchase another leg. I got an email back the next day (Monday) and rep said he was sorry for the problem and would send one to me in the mail. I got it today, 3 days later, they had to pay $1.50 postage for delivery and now this tool is functioning again, no charge to me for my mistake. WOW, try that with anyone else. You would be laughed at, this is the best service I have ever received from anyone for anything. Fantastic, two years old and still working as well as the first day I tried it. Can't say enough about KREG. Not only does the tool do everything you could want from it but the company follows suit with actual service. BUT IT NOW! Don't wait!

I don't use this jig professionally, I'm just an average woodworker. It's amazing. Easy, fast, accurate. This kit is all you need to get started building. I put together a shelving system in no time. The joints are unbelievably strong. Great tool, great quality.
