My large sander died, and got this smaller sander as I make smaller AWARDS for our local High School. Its small size turned out to be a blessing. As its light weigh, cuts quickly and extremely quick, I can over look the fact that it heats up quickly. I have learned to alter my methods of construction so I can give the sander some time to cool down between the different steps of making my awards. For me its perfect but the heating up will be an issue for someone who does heavy duty, long duration sanding.

A great sander for trim carpenters or cabinet installers, all wood workers in general. Easy to control in one hand for fine tuning trim and any material. It's a little work horse.

I received this little sander and thought I might have some uses for occasionally but it has become my favorite belt sander for many tasks that I do. Lightweight, cuts quickly and though it has a small platen, it is easy to control and use, prior to other finishing sanders to save time and effort. I love it!

Much easier to handle than any other I've used. This is a real improvement! Changing belts is a snap. I gave my old regular sized sander away.

This belt sander is easy to control especially if you have arthritis. It works especially well in the building of coffins. Yes, I said coffins. Fits into small areas that larger ones won't. Just needs to be used gently not with a lot of pressure. I would say it is not built for sanding a house.

I love this thing. I almost never touch my other belt sander now. My only gripe--and it's not an inconsiderable one--is that it becomes very hot to hold after only about 3-4 minutes of running. And I do mean "hot"--hot enough to make the body distinctly uncomfortable to hold, and hot enough for me to worry about soldered connections inside melting. Connecting a dust hose to my 2 1/2" shop vacuum helps cool it a bit, but merely enough to double the run time to about 6-8 minutes. Then I must set this sander aside and let it cool down for an hour before using it again. Do I happen to have a defective unit?
