The combination square is one of the world's most practical and versatile
tool inventions - the basic tool for every builder and craftsman. Features
try/miter gauge, depth gauge, height gauge and marking gauge — all in
one! With reversible lock bolt, scriber, spirit level and machine-divided
blade with satin chrome finish.
This tool can be used for many different purposes — a complete substitute
for a whole set of common solid try angles, a 45-degree miter, a depth
gauge, a height gauge, a marking or scribing gauge, a level, a plumb, and
by withdrawing the blade it can also be used as a precision rule.
- Easy-to-read graduations in 1/8" and 1/16" on one side of blade.
Quick reading in 1/32" and 1/64" on other side.
- Reversible lock bolt allows the blade to be turned over or end-for-end
without removing the lock bolt or nut. This ensures true alignment of the
blade and heads.
- Cast-iron head with black finish.
- Made in USA.

Had the 6 inch version before. This one is just as good and I would recommend to anyone.

Got the 12 inch version of this square recently and it is great! Feels nice, locks in nice and is dead on. Don't waste time with cheap versions of this square!

I was tired of "squares" that were out of square, broke easily, and were sometimes difficult to use. I decided to spend the big bucks for Starrett and get the best. It seems that this would have been the cheapest combination square if I would have bought this from the beginning. It is everything the reviews say, accurate, rugged, and easy to use. Don't know if you can get it a few bucks cheaper elsewhere, but with Rockler's history of competitive pricing and unbeatable service, I didn't even look.

Starrett's reputation for excellence is legendary. I own several of their tools and rely on them for accuracy in my woodworking. I have used my 12" combination square for many years, but recently purchased the 6" model. I am surprised at how often I turn to it in setting up tools and laying out projects. It is the ideal size for so many jobs around the shop. I expect that its rugged construction, clear markings, and great accuracy will cause it to be one of the most used tools around my bench and table saw for many years. I consider it a great investment, and Rockler's great service and competitive pricing made it the place to buy. Many thanks!

I am familiar with the Starretts reputation for precision, excellence and durability. I have personally used tools made be Starrett that have been decades old and perform just as good as the day they were made. With some brands you just expect excellence and Starrett is one of those brands. Earlier I purchaced a 4" combination square form a home improvement store, cheaper and of lesser quality. After about a year of fairly regular use, the scale wouldn't lock in the head and the bubble in the level enlarged. I got what I paid for. When I showed up on the job with my new Starrett 6" combination square, there was envy in the room. This tool gets used regularily for tool set-up, as well as a host of other uses, and has its own place in my tool belt. Besides looking and feeling good, the finish on the scale is very easy to read. I highly recommend this brand to anyone looking for a 6" combination square.

Good choice for combination square. Small dab of silicone helps keep scribe in place & level is bright in low light. Keep one in mobile tool box & one in shop.

I have a 6" Starrett combination square and it is superior to anything you would buy at a home improvement store. I will not ever by another brand of combination square or maybe any other type of square. I did do have a problem with the scribe falling out of its pocket but I plan on exchanging the unit.
