I took the advice of another reviewer and made the legs 3" instead of 2 1/2" which probably added to the chairs stability. I also used three 2" bolts on each leg instead of screws to provide more strength at a point that is generally weak on such chairs. I made two of the childs chairs and they turned out well but they are not as easy to assemble as the dvd indicates. More time and effort has to be made to ensure that everything fits well and is plumb and level, especially when adding the legs. Overall it's a good product.

These plans and DVD are the greatest. Having the cardboard parts ready to layout and cut is wonderful. Chairs go together real easy.

I'm a true believer in "you get what you pay for." These plans and DVD are the greatest. Very simple easy to follow instructions. I have recommended this product to several of my freinds. Thank you Rockler.

The cardboard layouts really made this easy but even more so was the layout guide, really helped cut down on the scrap wood. I am a beginner and have made several of these chairs in a short period of time.

Made two of the adult size chairs in a weekend. Having the board layouts made things easy. Video is low grade/homemade and cursory but good enough for reference. The printed instructions were worthless. Chairs turned out pretty nice for a first woodworking effort on my part. Stable and comfy.

Very easy to cut the parts and assemble. I used 1" cedar rather than 3/4" and made 2 chairs. Made beefier chairs. Expect them to last many years at our lake front lot where we keep a travel trailer.

Worth it's money just for the cardboard cut-outs, they're spot on. It also provides a cut list and an optimized layout of the pieces on your lumber to minimize scrap. The dvd looks like it was shot with a camcorder in someone's garage, but it gets the job done. I'm a novice and I made this chair in a weekend.

Couple callouts:
1. Beware of splitting wood. I pre-drilled my holes, but I still experienced a number of boards that split when I tightened them down. I would recommened screws without a shoulder if you can find them. (pocket hole screws would be perfect if they were exterior grade)

2. I would recommend going with wider board for front legs. The piece isn't unsafe, but it's a little wobbly left-to-right.

"Recieved our order of glass and wire mesh. All items arrived intact, which was no surprise considering the impressive packaging. I've dealt with what many companies consider appropriate packaging, which, at best is hit-and-miss. The packaging methods you folks employ are second to none. Thank you. J.J.Marchese"
