- Final measurements of adult chair is 29" wide x 38" high x 36" long.

Would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Easy to follow directions and it goes togeather very well. DVD helps with assembly as written directions are very lacking. I made two chairs over 2 afternoons. Fun and easy project.

I purchased this product to make 6 Adirondak chairs for my daughter. I arrived quicker than I expected. The plans, DVD, and templates were all much better than I expected. Very easy to follow. I would recommend this product to anyone seriously interested in building these chairs. I was very satisfied.

Awesome product! One word of warning - when putting down the cardboard patterns, lay them so the smoothe sides will be face up on your chairs when finished. The boards we used cedar were rough on one side and we had spent a lot of extra time smoothing the rough side because we failed to do this. Other than that, they turned out beautifully and it was a fun weekend project!

I bought these plans thinking that they where over priced, and with my wife wanting Adirondack chairs. Man was I wrong, if you watch the dvd, and use the templates, you can't go wrong. They are pretty much idiot proof, just follow the directions and you will have some great chairs.

This is an update to my first review. I've now built 6 chairs, each one successively better than the one before. The instructor on the DVD tends to eyeball a lot of things. I don't. For example, mounting the arms to the tops of the legs requires the inside edge to be in vertical alignment with the inside edge of the long legs, therefore I clamp two pieces of wood to act at guides for the arm placements. Keeping things square and plumb is the key. Gorilla Glue is recommended by the instructor and it has proven to work extremely well. Four of the chairs have been outside in the weather for over a year now and they are still as sturdy as the day they we built. Pre-drilling holes is a must, too. Overall, I have really gotten my money's worth from this purchase.

The templates are terrific, but the written instructions are somewhat incomplete. The DVD clears up a lot of questions by showing you the steps that are not well explained in the written procedure. The DVD is homemade and the audio has an annoying background 60 Hz buzzing, but otherwise is adequate for the package.
All in all, it's still a very good value and I anticipate making several chairs for our own use as well as gifts.

I took the advice of another reviewer and made the legs 3" instead of 2 1/2" which probably added to the chairs stability. I also used three 2" bolts on each leg instead of screws to provide more strength at a point that is generally weak on such chairs. I made two of the childs chairs and they turned out well but they are not as easy to assemble as the dvd indicates. More time and effort has to be made to ensure that everything fits well and is plumb and level, especially when adding the legs. Overall it's a good product.
