I researched quite a bit before puchasing this vise, and I am very pleased. I beleive this is the best value out there. Buying from Rockler, as always adds a lot of peace to the purchase decision. Thanks Rockler for a great product at a good price!

Easy to mount and smooth operation. Plates have a small amount of play so you have to be careful to align them before tightening the vise if you are using it flush. Overall it is what I expected and I am enjoying it.

Wooden face plates take 5/16 contersunk screws (hard to find) I think they should have been at least 1/4 in. The plates don't line up quite right, but I can live with that. It's better than using a machine vise. Bottom line "I like it"

Bolts for mounting wooden vise pads are not included. Also, the thread size for those bolts is not indicated anywhere so you don't know what type of bolt to buy.

After a few months of light use my vise would only hold gently. When tightening it up it would slip teeth due to a malfunction of the quick release. The vise has "Taiwan" stamped on the bottom. I expected this vise to last a lifetime so I'm pretty disappointed.

I found the mounting directions (drill 1/4 in holes for 1/4 inch bolts) lacking. Also, the lack of mounting bolts for wooden faces was disappointing, as was the lack of information about the size and thread required. Otherwise, I look forward to many hours of use.

My quick release is starting to fail so that I can't tighten the vise much, and I truly have not used it for to long. Very disappointing.

I have had this vise for about 2 1/2 years, and used it regularly. For about the the first 2 years it worked fine. But then the quick release nut began to slip occasionally. Now it will barely tighten at all. Unless I can get a replacement quick release nut, I won't have much use for it, other than possibly as a boat anchor.

This vise compared to some of the others in the same price range shines, however it is a little crude in some area's, the quick release for one and the face plates don't line up correctly. But it is fine for my needs.

After a short time, quick release keeps popping open. Tech support suggested oiling mechanism, seem to work for a while, but now nothing helps. A waste. Now I have to get another type. Very disappointed

I like Rockler, but this vise had no mounting instructions or hardware recommendations. Just installed so I will see how it holds up.
