I used it to even out a walnut box that I had used Danish Oil Dark Walnut on. The combination of the two really enhanced the box's look and felt really nice.

We bought a oak roll top desk that has a darker finish. I applied the dark paste with a cheese cloth, waited 10 minutes and then buffed it off. I repeated this two times. Even on our new desk, this product has enhanced the color and finish while adding some protection against a coffee spill or wet glass. Using the cheese cloth method, this wax will go a long, long way since you don't need alot to get great results

Good, hard wax, and with the "special dark" variety, my dark varnished wood floors keep their like-new appearance. The dark wax hides scratches and dings as well as protecting and adding just the right luster.

Product was labor-intensive to apply/buff - resulted in light colored wax showing in the pores of the Walnut. Felt nice to the touch, but did not enhance the look of the oiled & shellaced walnut. Still trying to get the light wax out of the pores with numerous applications of mineral spirits.

I have been taught that to properly finish a project, after at least four or five coats of finish, either Arm-R-Seal or Polyurethane, rub it with 0000 steel wool. You rub out all runs and imperfections and "take off all the shine, then you come in with Minwax, rubbed on with steel wool and buffed. The result is a satiny finish that is out of this world. It is soft, it is smooth, it has a nice satin finish, and does not even feel like wood. I love this product. It makes me look like a real craftsman.

For years I tried different products seeking a low luster natural wood finish. Of course, ease of application is desired. I found Minwax to be just what I wanted. It provides a low to medium luster finish and is quite easy to apply. As they suggest, use a cheese or cotton cloth with a ball of wax inside. Let dry for about fifteen minutes and then buff with a terry cloth. I suggest two coats and I apply it over a clear coat of Minwax Natural stain. When I use this finish on dark woods, such as Walnut, I use the dark formula as the natural blend will leave dry white pockets in the open grain of the wood. I'm very pleased with this product. Give it a try.
