Freud engineers have discovered the ultimate combination of fused tooth grind geometry, blade body rigidity, precise tensioning, a special carbide blend and superior carbide brazing, non-stick Perma-SHIELD® coating and high performance anti-vibration – all working together in concert to provide the ultimate cut. One blade does it all. Whether you’re ripping or crosscutting, a Premier Fusion blade will tackle any project.

The Perma-SHIELD® coating covers the blade plate and cutting edge in a protective layer, reducing heat build-up. Perma-SHIELD® blades resist binding in large volume cutting, reducing subsequent blade warp. The coating lubricates the blade, allowing it to spin freely, and eliminates pitch and debris build-up on the blade.

Also available as a thin kerf blade.

I teach in a local high school, I use this blade as my general purpose blade. Softwoods, hardwoods, plywood. Very pleased, leaves little to no splintering, good smooth cuts. I agree there are even higher quality blades out there but this is pretty good bang for your buck!!!

This blade is excellent for a general use blade, it rips and cross cut very good and I use it for just about all my cutting.

I cut some plywood,MDF and pine. Crosscuts were Excellent and Rip cuts in pine were Very Very Good!!! With no splintering.

Over-rated by the magazines. Cutting well but leaves tooth marks. I have better blades.

This is hands down the best value blade on the retail market. Freud may have better industrial blades costing several times this price, but these have very special uses. Those other blades, which cost much more suffer by comparison. It sounds to me like Fred Rist's saw needs to be retuned/repaired. If the blade was at fault, Freud will gladly replace it and find out why it failed to perform for Fred. The blade can only perform as well as the saw on which it is used.

I have my own woodworking shop with over 50 years of woodworking experience and have used every quality blade on the market. The Freud 40T Hi ATB Fusion Iin no way compares to the Forrest WWII ATB.  The quality of the cross cut and rip of the WWII is unmatched by the Freud Fusion. If you are going to spend $100 on this type of blade, spend somewhat more and purchase the WWII. The results will speak for the superior cutting quality of the WWII.
