Zero Clearance Bandsaw Insert

Reduce splintering and tear-out, and keep small drop-offs from falling between the blade and wheels. These semi-rigid, plastic inserts snap in to replace your old, beat-up throat plate. Ideal for scrollwork, small or fragile parts, and woods prone to splintering, these inserts provide a solid base for your workpiece at very little cost. Will not dull your saw teeth. Sold in sets of 5.

Delta inserts are 2-1/2" (OAD - Overall Diameter) x 2-3/16" (to lip). Jet inserts are 2-1/2" (OAD) x 1-3/4" (to lip). Imported.

1) Submitted by Steve, from Minnetonka, MN on 4/5/2012 Customer Rating: Fits my Jet 12" almost perfectly, they are just a hair thin so the insert sits about a sheet of paper low in the table. It is just enough of a lip to catch the wood as you cut. Glued a paper ring on the insert and now it fits perfectly flush with the table. Other than that this is an excellent upgrade from stock.

I did have trouble getting it to fit flat because of the alignment pin on a 1969 Rockwell/Delta table - problem was solved by using a smooth face steel hammer and hammering it flush over the pin, then taking a razor scraper and taking off what mushroomed up around the pim - fits perfect now and is very tight fit - should stay in place just fine compared with the old aluminum one. Nice color too!

All I had to do was clean all the sawdust out of the hole in the table with a scribe. The insert sets flat with the table. I would give this item an excellent rating if it had a line molded into it for the blade slot. Very Good product.

I tried another brand and had to spend a lot of time sawing and filing to make them fit. Ended up trashing them. Thanks Rockler for another fine product.
