X-Treme Tape® Quick Clamp Wrap

Clamp odd shapes and angles without having to make cauls and clamping blocks. Originally developed for the military, X-Treme Tape is made from an elastic, silicone compound which adheres to itself when wrapped under tension, and applies even pressure to the most irregular shapes. Rubbery material firmly grips wood, but won’t damage the finish because it only adheres to itself. It forms an air and water-tight seal, is heat-resistant up to 500° F, and insulates up to 400 volts per mil! Also great for plumbing fixes, electrical connections and marine applications. 10' roll.

1” Wide x 20 mil Thick x 10’ Long. Great for Automotive, Plumbing, Sports, Outdoor, Electrical, Garden, Tools and Marine applications. No Adhesive, Bonds Only to Itself. After roughly 2 minutes in a wrapped state, the bond becomes permanent. Won’t Melt Up to +500°F (+260°C). Remains Flexible to -60°F (-54°C). Forms a Permanent Air & Water Tight Seal. Tensile Strength of 600 psi. Insulates to 8000Volts (for a 20 mil wrap). Stretches to 3 times its Length. Conforms to Irregular Shapes.

It worked well to help bring together a split in a table leg support where a traditional clamp wouldn't work. This is exactly the kind of thing I needed to add to my "tools".

2) Submitted by Travis, from Kennewick, WA on 9/22/2007 Customer Rating: I bought this tape to help glue a face frame onto a lazy susan corner cabinet but I didn't realize the tape has to wrap back onto itself to stay in place and that just wouldn't work with this cabinet. The material is very elastic and will stretch quite a bit so you can get a lot of tension. Since this product says that it works as a permanent fix to plumbing and other things I think I have a few other things around my house that I can use it on. Overall I think this is a very good product.
