I purchased this item last week in the hope it would assist in holding four leg elements together while gluing up. As soon as it went to bind on it's self to hold the pieces together it tore. In fact anytime it touched it's self and I tried to part it, it would tear. I threw it out. It was a total waste of money. I got an old bicycle tire and that worked.

It's a good idea, but poorly executed. I tried to use it to clamp my case.  I was trying to hold plastic binding to a guitar body for gluing. The X-Treme Tape does stick well to its self. It's also quite stretchy and as such it conforms to odd shapes wonderfully. Too bad it breaks if you look at it cross. I tried to use it once and ended up with 10 pieces. I was going to keep the rest of it in case I needed it again for something less demanding but against my pack-rat nature, I threw it all out. I'll give it two.. because it does form and stick together well. I only give it two because it's only useful in situation where you require very little tension. Swing and a miss for the average woodworker. Consider it maybe for some very special needs. I really wanted it to work. :-{
