This easy, durable, non-toxic oil finish has been approved safe for toys! A blend of high quality oils, resins and dryers, Liberon Finishing Oil resists water, heat, alcohol and food acids, making it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and other high-use areas. Beautiful matte/satin sheen does not obscure the grain, and highlights the natural beauty of the wood. Dries in about 5 hours. Made in England. Available in 250 ml or Liter size.
- For interior use.
- 1 liter covers 32-39 sq. ft.
- Apply with a brush or cloth.
- Allow oil to penetrate up to 10 minutes, and wipe off all excess with a
clean cloth before the surface gets sticky.
- Allow at least 5 hours dry time, then apply more coats as required.
- For best results, gently rub with Extra Fine Steel Wool between
coats.
- To avoid fire hazards, allow all oily cloths to dry thoroughly outside
before discarding.
- Clean up tools with mineral spirits.
- May also be used on cork, stone and terracotta.
- Finishing Oil may darken some woods.

Great product and very easy to use. Refinished a 100-year old oak tabletop converted to a kitchen island top, Wanted something water and food acid resistant. My wife and daughter a professional chef wanted an easy to care for finish, since they like to prep while sitting at the island. Also, I needed to match the Stickley Mission oak stools. After dyeing the oak, I applied with the Liberon Finishing Oil with a cloth by following the simple instructions. I'm not a professional and was a little daunted by the task. As I applied the oil, the oak became more and more beautiful. I was able to match the color and sheen of the stools exactly. I would say to anyone looking for an virtually foolproof finish, Liberon Finishing Oil is the best and easiest way to go. 5 stars!

There is truly nothing like Liberon in the world. It builds faster than any other oil finish and looks better than polyurethane or lacquer. Ten coats of pure tung or linseed oil can't do what three coats of this stuff does. And for the depth and sheen acquired, the drying time in unreal. Seriously, if you're finishing anything you care about the appearance of, it simply doesn't get any better than this.
I personally finished a guitar in the stuff, which was a little unconventional, but was a great decision. Both the mahogany of the body and the maple of the neck took on some kind of amazing combination of the high gloss sheen of lacquer and the golden beauty of tung oil. Even an amateur couldn't apply this stuff wrong. It was worth every penny.

I can't explain exactly how impressed I am with the results of this product. The application process was suggested and explained to me by the store manager in So. Potland, ME. My least favorite part of finish cerpentry is sanding, so I wasn't looking forward to four coats of wet sanding this oil into the wood after I'd got to 150 grit. But by the time the last coat with 600 grit was applied, I couldn't beleive I'd build anything with such a beautiful finish. Over the last year the piece has taken on a beauty of its own, getting darker, richer and more colorful than the day I finished it. Appling a coat of good wax once a year protects the finish nicely.
