Includes 3 pen blanks (Bloodwood, Bubinga and Olivewood), 3 gold-plated hardware kits with twist mechanisms, 7mm mandrel with knurled nut, #2 Morse Taper, (4) 7mm bushings, a 7mm Brad Point Drill Bit, a 2 oz. bottle of CA Glue, a Pen Mill for truing up all mating surfaces and a storage case with 28 adjustable compartments.

I turned a pen at the wood fair and was hooked. I have made some laminated pen blanks and they turned out pretty nice. I have made many pens and now I'm looking for a lathe. I highly recommend getting this kit.

You will need to make a handle for the pen mill though, which I personally don't think is a big deal. I did have 1 issue with the brad point bit that comes with the kit - the tip broke off after drilling 3 holes. That's why I've only given the product a 4 rating. However, Rockler immediately sent out a replacement bit, so their customer service was excellent on this purchase.

Me and my sons have turned about 20 pens and they have sold like hot cakes. My sons have started their own business turning pens and they are making more than I do as a chef per hour So it is a great and easy way to make a few bucks.

There is one small issue with the pen mill, you have to either buy or turn a handle. For me, I just bought one that I can use with my drill. I recommend this kit to all who want to start turning pens.

Overall, the quality of the pen kits and accessories are exceptional. However, the pen mill comes with a threaded handle. The manufacturer does not recommend you use this with a cordless drill or drill press; you will need to make a handle for it or like me, purchase another pen mill.
