Jim Bartz does a good job of clearly showing and explaining his free hand technique for sign carving. I found it very helpful.
It would have been nice to see many other project examples in more detail, but his main example is excellently presented. He does demo other examples, but not in as much detail as his main sign project. I give his DVD an excellent rating. Thanks Jim.

I enjoyed this video. The presentation is no-frills, straight forward. Any questions I had after watching were answered by the faq on their website. Bought some 3/8" acrylic plates for router bases, but haven't gotten software to make the templates and attempt actually making one yet.

I was just getting into sign carving about a year ago and had no clue what-so-ever what I was doing. The basic techniques displayed in this video got me going and actually inspired me to attempt free-hand sign carving, which is so much more easier than you would think. The narrator of this instructional video, Jim Bartz, does a fine job demonstrating the process. I would highly recommend this DVD, especially if you have any hesitation to try sign carving. You will me impressed at just how simple it is. Have fun.

This DVD was very well done. The tips and demonstrations were great, and although I have never done a sign with a router, I feel pretty confident I can do it now. I especially liked the short videos of the snow-covered countryside between lessons. I wished the narrator would have mentioned the computer program he uses, and I think a little humor in his dialog would have been great. Overall, though, this was a great investment for me and I would recommend it.

"Have been a return customer for a number of years, and a recent experience has really cemented that bond for me. After using my Rockler lighted magnifying lens for a few months, one of the wires from the battery pack came loose. When I contacted Customer Service to inquire about sending the unit back, they instead sent me a brand new one - no questions asked, no return expected, no charge whatsoever. This simple step - coupled with top quality, innovative products - ensured my repeat business more than any other advertising technique or gimmick could ever do. Keep up the good work, Rockler!"
