These bits are specially designed to cut grooves and dadoes to accept plywood that measures less than its stated nominal thickness. This set includes the three most common sizes of straight bits for undersized plywood: 23/32'' for 3/4'' plywood, 31/64'' for 1/2'' plywood, and 15/64'' for 1/4'' plywood.

Plywood is usually is thinner than the nominal measurements indicate. As a result, regular size bits oftentimes cannot cut a well fitting dado. Undersized bits like these are designed to help your joinery fit perfectly.

I've always made too passes with a narrower bit. These are a big time saver. One thing I would point out.... to the writer of the ad: Its not "undersized" plywood, it is Metric plywood. 3/4 ply is typically 18mm plywood because it is all imported... so even these bits are a touch too large. I haven't been able to find a set made for MM measurements and I am not a big fan of the visible joint these create... But I won't deduct a star for that.

Nice quality, runs true, smooth cuts. Reasonable price, fast delivery.
Replaced a set of CMT bits purchased elswhere that were bad news.

A great addition to any shop. Very sharp and well balanced. Don't get cheap on the plywood you use. Home store plywood is not uniform in thickness. These bits and quality plywood, a perfect match.

Great value when on special. Was using full size router bits (1/2", 3/4") and putting up with the poor fit on plywood. Was amazed at how well the plywood fit with the bits made for it.

I could of used these a few years ago, they are a great help making cabinets and such. At the sale price they were a real bargain.

If your making occasional dadoes for plywood this is what you need for the perfect fit. If doing a lot of them you may want a carbide version.
