Each blank measures approximately 5" long x 3/4" square.
Turns very quickly; take care turning with light pressure.
Blanks can be finished after turning by sanding to a fine grit and then polishing on a buffing wheel with Corian® polish, buffing compound or Hut finishing blocks.

Patience needed in turning, but turns nicely. End finish is wonderful if done right. Sold my Cigar Pen almost immediately after I put it on display.

I would expect grains and curls not to come out as expected when working with natural wood. I do however, expect to get what I pay for when ordering man made plastic. In this case, only half of the blank was red, white and blue half was only blue and white. I have attached a picture. As you can see, only the bottom has any red in it and not much at that. I also had to leave it as thick as possible in order to get only those colors to show.
"Have been a return customer for a number of years, and a recent experience has really cemented that bond for me. After using my Rockler lighted magnifying lens for a few months, one of the wires from the battery pack came loose. When I contacted Customer Service to inquire about sending the unit back, they instead sent me a brand new one - no questions asked, no return expected, no charge whatsoever. This simple step - coupled with top quality, innovative products - ensured my repeat business more than any other advertising technique or gimmick could ever do.
Keep up the good work, Rockler!" -
