Assembly instructions were not included with product. Makes it difficult at best top try to assemble using picture on box.

No directions on how to assemble, which would have been nice since the pictures on the box do not depict actual jig.
There are two cross bars with threaded holes and two without. This is hard to see, so make sure you have one on each side.

This is a great add-on and necessary for the dovetail jig unless you want some serious backaches from bending over. I will say though there were no instructions in my package and it may have just been my luck of the draw but instructions on this product were very, very necessary. It took me more time to assemble the base then it did to set up the jig. I did build the drawer for it which was great and Just makes the jig look cool as well as offering much needed storage space. Great accessory, just work on those assembly instructions!

I originally used the Rockler dovetail jig just mounted on a 3/4" piece of plywood, clamped to my workbench. This was satisfactory and worked fine. But I'm 6'1" and hunching over sort of stunk after a half dozen boards. I am immensely pleased with the dovetail jig stand. This raises the jig to a height such that I only have to tilt my head to have a good view of the bit's progress and the router base. Overall the stand is sturdy, brings things up to a very nice workable height, and does not detract from the stability or use of the dovetail jig at all. I am very pleased and feel it was worth the $. Though it is mostly a comfort-enhancing item, the additional storage is great to have.
I followed the model on the box photo and built a sliding drawer to fit "inside" the stand. Two comments with regards to this:
1) It would be a nice value-added bonus to have a plan and/or a guide for making the drawer. Though I have router and joinery experience it was still somewhat surprising having to start from scratch when a single page plan would have gotten me (and many others I'm sure) on to making a drawer instead of designing one. Since the product encourages and shows a drawer for the stand, perhaps the manufacturer could have included a simple plan.
2) The method of mounting the stand to a solid base (e.g. 3/4" plywood) requires some sort of fastener to screw/bolt the stand to the plywood. Since the mounting holes are not countersunk or anything the screw heads would protrude above the stand's "feet" and thus impede the movement of a drawer, unless you notched the drawer fronts and had a deeply recessed drawer bottom.
To get around this I used a conical grinding attachment to make a countersink in the aluminum. After driving screws to attach the stand to the plywood I then had to file and grind off the screw heads which were still proud of the feet. I would recommend the mounting hole either be threaded (10-24 would suffice) or be pre-countersunk to accommodate a #8 flat-head screw.
Anyway, mounting woes aside, the drawer idea is excellent and I still give the stand 5 stars. With some of these installed (http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10478) I was able to put all of my dovetail bits, some of my lesser used molding and panel raising bits and the various dovetail jig guides into the drawer for safe keeping.

I only rated it good because: #1, the bases were not bent the same, #2, the support braces were not quite the same. Otherwise I would have rated it very good. The intention of this jig base is very good and whoever thought of the sliding drawer had their thinking cap on. I made one also and it is nice to keep everything together with the dovetail jig. It also made it a comfortable height to cut the tails and pins.

With no instructions to follow it took a few minutes to figure out which rail went were. But after that it went together real smooth. Over all I think it is a good addition to the Dovetail Jig. The added height that it give is good to taller woodworkers. Thanks Rockler.
