I've had several $15 (cheap) sets and experienced nothing but frustration because the stop collar would slip,the bit would break, or the cutters tore the wood instead of cutting. These are easily adjustable to suit many applications, and they provide great results with smooth edges. Worth every penny! I highly recommend them!

5) Submitted by Bob, from St Louis, MO on 10/9/2008 Customer Rating: Used These bits to install hard maple kitchen cabinets. They gave the smoothest countersink cut of any countersink bits I have ever used; which are many. The only problem was the stop tended to slip and you could end up with a deeper countersink than you intended. This was only a problem when used with "Pony Cabinet Claw" clamps where you could not see the progress of the countersink cut and relied on the stop for depth of cut. If countersinking was done without the clamp in place, and the cut was visible, it was a piece of cake to control the depth of cut. Very smooth and easy to control.

7) Submitted by William Holt, from Morrison, IL on 7/11/2008 Customer Rating: I think I have used nearly every tapered countersink/counterbore product on the market and this is the first that I have used that the counterbore assembly does not slip. I use mine in a ratcheting hand brace for furniture projects where I want a flush fit or to plug the hole above the screw head. These have worked perfectly for me in Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Maple and exotics. I would highly recommend this product. I may break one at some point but I will never purchase another brand again. Thank you Rockler for a fine and innovative product.
