This simple accessory prevents your tape measure from slipping off the corner while measuring diagonals. The 90° inside corner securely straddles any outside corner, and rotates 360° to accomodate any rectangular object. It attaches easily to your tape with a single, powerful rare earth magnet. Use it while assembling drawers for a perfectly square batch. Also great for cases, frames and more. Slot for tape hook measures 1-1/8" wide. Made of durable plastic.

This is by far the easiest way to measure a box for square! If I lose or break mine, I'll definitely be buying another one.

Awesome and simple device! I use it when measuring all my smaller projects to keep them square. The magnet holds the end of the tape in place. There is no problem with the square check staying on the corners on projects up up to 48". Very happy with my purchase. Should have purchased a few extra at this price.

Easy to use. I wish that this gadget had been available/known to me earlier. Mush easier to use than a square or tape measure alone. Magnet makes the gadget easier to use and therefore I will use it often. Minimal time to check or set work square. Very simple and again one of the best.

I rate this between VG & Excellent with a placement closer to excellent. Keep it up Rockler.

A very simple device with a surprisingly strong magnet. This really works well, saves time and improves accuracy. It's like having an extra hand for squaring large casework, and eliminates some of the anxiety that occurs as glue sets up during assembly.

Works well for what it was designed to do. It just doesn't work as well for long skinny rectangular measurements since you are not pulling into the V, but more to the side.

I found the unit would not work on smaller projects or when using the four clamps and four square blocks used when gluing up cabinet doors. I had the clamps placed on the inside of the blocks, which still made it difficult to use the product. Otherwise it's a great product.

Great idea and a functional tool that allows for exact measurement of square...as long as the clamps aren't in the way. This will work great for cabinets or boxes, but for flat frames, I couldn't use it with my clamps on the corners.

Works as advertised most of the time, occasionally slips off the corner. To fix place two very small wood screws, points barely protruding inward near the inside corner - provides some 'extra' bite.

I like the product, especially for workpieces that allow you to measure horizontally, not vertically. When stretching a tape out to 96" on the vertical, it is a little tough to keep it held on the corner. Otherwise, a great tool for a great price.

These are larger than the picture would lead you to believe. I like the magnet that holds the end of the tape in the slot. This will help me a great deal as I work alone in a small shop. Very handy.

The design is faulty in that the magnet is not powerful enough to actually hold the tape onto the device. In addition, the device tends to rotate around the corner and hence pop off the corner. Unsatisfactory.

I found this product to be a great improvement in checking squareness. It put an end to the frustration of trying to catch a corner with just a tape measure. I do however agree that a rougher surface or the addition of a non slip material to the inside would reduce slippage. All in all....a great little tool.

When doing a job alone, it's like having a second pair of hands. However, it does need more gripping power on rounded edges and depth to become a super product.

Nice tool especially when having to work alone. Very accurate and fairly easy to use. Unlike one of the other posts I thought the magnet was very strong. I have trouble getting my tape measure off the magnet. It works well and makes the job of squaring frames fairly easy when doing it alone. It does have a tendency to slip off the corner if you pull the tape measure to extend it without holding down the square check and someone suggested that if it was deeper it might not slip off, especially on rounded corners. I agree. Also maybe add pieces of rubber or something to the inside corners that would cause it to grip the wood a little better so that it doesn't slip off. I'm going to try a few things on the inside edges of the tool and see what works. All in all a nice tool though and definitely worth it.

I run a one man cabinet shop and this product is a time saver. It works well and saves me time. How many times in the past my tape rule slips off the corner and you have to go back and reposition it especially on big cabinets like pantrys. This product is worth it, you won't regret buying it. I bought 2, keep one as a spare.

I first used this on a crib my son and I are building and we used it multiple times to ensure each end was square. It is a pretty simple thing, but when you are doing the job alone, it helps. The only thing is, I wish the magnet was a little stronger.

Good idea, works well on flat squared corners like a picture frame or drawer but I found it would not stay put on corners where the board edges had been rounded. It tends to flip off the corner. I think the product would be better if it were a little deeper to allow a better grip on the corner.

This is a great product it easy to use. It works great on small projects but even better on big projects because you can do it without the help of someone to hold the other end of the tape or trying to do it yourself and the tape constantly falling of the corner while trying to measure.

Cool gadget, I like the magnet that holds your tape measure but.....The wings that have to hold the gadget on your corner is too small. It will work excellent with longer wings and will be more stable or even with a rubber padding so that it will stick to your piece.

This is a real handy accessory. I have used it alot and the only complaint is that it always comes off the end of the corner when used past 4 or 5 feet in length. I have to tape it to the workpiece with masking tape to keep it from coming off. If the sides were deeper I feel that it would stay put much better. Good design that can be improved on.

I work alone most of the time, I had hopes that this product would assist greatly in holding tape for checking square. It does not stay in place as well as I thought it would, Maybe if the magnet was located in a diff location, and /or had non-slip material to keep it in place. I am back to using a 1" tape, same as before.

While the idea of this product is a good one I can only rate the item as average. The reason is that mine does not stay on the corner when measuring longer diagonals, something I was hoping it would do when working alone. I will try gluing sandpaper to the inside edges to add grip but for now I limit working with it only on diagonals I can actually reach to hold it in place. It does provide more accurate readings but the limit on length is a problem.

The magnet that holds the tape measure in my opinion is in the wrong place and fails to hold this product to the end of the tape. if the magnet was placed at the bottom of the slot it would be more useful.

I work alone most of the time, thought that this product would assist greatly in holding tape for checking square. Does not stay in place as well as I thought it would.

I'm used to working on things by myself, but sometimes when checking square of a big cabinet, I would have trouble with the tape slipping off. I tried the Square Check and it works great. I wish I had known about it sooner.

Althogh I have not had a chance to use the product yet, I had assumed that these came in pairs. So I was supprised when I opened the box and found only one!, So next time I'm near Shaumberg I'll have to get a second.

Editor's note: This item is not used in pairs. To check for squareness measure one diagonal and then measure the other.

The slot fot the end of the tape is too large allowing the tape to slide off center distorting the measurement for angles not at 45 degrees, also it slips off the corner easily. Not much use.

If the angle is something other then 45 degrees I find it slips off the work piece very easy.

My husband immediately went and grabbed a tape measure and started measuring everything. He is a Master Carpenter and thought this product would work fine.

Slips off work piece if you are not checking an angle that is close to 45 degrees. For me it was a waste of money. Fortunately it was cheap.

It does slip off of even the SLIGHTEST bevel or rounded edge. You NEED 2 - should be sold in pairs or copy should reinforce that you NEED 2.

Neat idea, horrible execution. This thing falls off 90% of the time. After 2 days of "trying" to use this thing I just tossed it into the trash. Not worth the $ I spent on mine.

Most of the time this unit does not work well. The plastic edge slips off the corner of the work piece. Probably because of the location of the magnet.

A very frustating attatchment. It needs to be modified so that it will actually stay on what your trying to measure.

I bought two, one for my son and one for my use. After I tried to use mine I threw them both in my tool box. It is a good idea but if you can't reach across to hold it in place it will slip off the corner.

Buy a tape with a wide and thick blade instead. The corners on the attachment are too short and don't consistently keep the tool centered, which leads to inconsistant readings.

It works well with square projects, but the more th y axis increases relative to the x axis, the item pops off the corner unless anchored artificially, i.e. with a nail or screw. Good for squares, lousy for rectangles.

I had really high hopes for this little gadget. I thought it was going to solve a lot of my measuring troubles. First of all, the piece would not stay attached to my measuring tape and secondly, it would not stay on the corner of the project. It actually made measuring more frustrating than before I tried on several occassions to use it, thinking I might have just been in a hurry or wasn't using it properly or something. Every single time I got the same results.

I bought this about 2 years ago and is not worth the money. Everytime I put it on a corner with the tape measure it pops off. For small drawers two hands are needed. For large items it's a waste of time and money to square up a project when the tape will hold much better.

This looks like a good idea on paper, but it is really quite useless. If you are spanning more than a foot or so, the tension required to keep the catenary angle out of the tape pops it off the top. If the angle is much greater than 45º, i.e., if the project is rectangular, the jig slips off to the side, since the center rotates so freely. Just putting the end of the bare tape on the corner is far easier and more secure. And if you are trying to set it down by extending the tape from where you stand, forget it. Even a Fat Max heavy duty rule can't reach more than a foot or two. I would return it, but the shipping would be more than I paid. Save your money.
