Great for laying out mortises and tenons on small stock. The quality of the product is very good and the price couldn't be beat.

Very handy small square, easy to carry in a pocket and easy to handle. I found that the changing of the scale was a little rough, perhaps this will improve with use. I found that the numbers and letters were printed on the metal and not etched into the square. This may be a problem with wear on the rule. The sale price was quite good and I know that the professional squares are very expensive. I have but one. It is a good deal at the sale price.

Not a bad little square. Checked it against my Starrett, it's dead nuts accurate. It's the right size for small jobs, like setting the reveals on the clam shell trim on Habitat builds. It's also a nice size for sticking in a shirt pocket, instead of throwing it in the bottom of a nail pouch just to get it banged around. On the minus side it doesn't have ecthed markings, my Grandfather's Miller Falls combo square is still useable after many decades of being used on jobsites in the rain, mud, snow, etc. because of that very feature. Also the setting screw is a bugger to use and doesn't really want to lock all that easily or for that matter firmly. As a discounted Christmas gift, it was a bargain and a half, to pay full boat, I just don't know.

It may not be a Starrett, but it doesn't cost nearly as much either! It's still very accurate, very useful, and will do everything a Starrett will do for the average woodworker. A great value, and a handy tool for set-ups and tune-ups. Considering the price, it's a bargain.

Good value for the price but not a Starrett but it is still an asset for general work in the shop.

Good value for the discounted price. I would have rated it excellent if the markings were etched and it slid easily.

Not a very impressive tool. On special the value to performance ratio is okay. It will likely get some layout use. I am not very pleased with the locking mechanism. It is hard to adjust and even locked down the rule will slip when pulled. Sorry, only 2 stars on this one.

I rated the product "good" for one main reason. The numbers and graduation marks are not etched into the rule, they are simply printed onto the surface of the metal. As far as I can tell, this means that eventually this will only be useful for checking for square, but not for measuring and layout, since the marking will someday wear off.
I checked the item for square against an accurate machinist square, and I was very pleased with the accuracy. The fit is also very good, not too loose, but not overly tight either. I'm sure I'll enjoy using it overall, just not sure how many years it will last me.

Very convenient size with excellent markings. It does not slide or lock/unlock as smoothly as I had hoped (like a $$$ Starrett), but is an overall decent value with the discount.

Figured it wouldn't be much for the price but was wrong. Checked it against my square and it was right on both inside and out. Locked up tight. Handy. Good Deal.

Great little square. Gets in tight spaces where others can't. I even used it to check my big squares accuracy.

I am really sad that this tool exists. Why not make the square block a useful dimension? Am I missing something? I was thrilled with this tool until I went to use it, and discovered it's odd sizes. I'm not looking to buy 20$ tools with machinist precision, but what use is a square block that measures 1 1/16" x 17/32" ? so close to 1" x 1/2" This defeats the usefulness of this tool that could otherwise become a daily companion of mine.

Very good for Christmas sale price. Good quality, but not excellent. Would have been slightly disappointed if I purchased it at the regular retail price.

I would have been very unhappy with this tool at the full price. At the discounted price I paid, it's not worth sending back.[at full price]I would have expected quality equivalent to a Stanley or General at least, but this is nowhere near that quality. It's almost square - close enough for most woodworking tasks, I suppose, but the rule will not stay tight. It's difficult to tighten the nut that secures the rule, and the slot for the rule is probably 50% wider than the rule is thick. Thus it's possible to twist the rule in its slot which will immediately cause the locking screw to become loose. This is a shame because the concept is good, the rule is nicely etched and easy to read, but the mechanical fit is horrible and negates any utility that this square could have. It goes in the bin with the other cheap tools I've bought that weren't worth the meager investment.

Good-enough quality and a good deal when purchased on sale -- I wouldn't recommend it at full price though. The locking mechanism is difficult to get at with your fingers and requires fussing to unlock/lock. This little square fits great in your tool pouch and is really handy if locked at a certain position and then used a lot without more adjusting, for instance set at 3/16" and mark lots of trim reveals. Frequent and rapid changes though are frustrating and have me setting it aside to grab my Starrett.

This little hummer went straight into my apron pocket and gets used 3-4 times every day. It's a real time saver and improves my accuracy given that it's so easy to maneuver. Wicked good tool.
