24'' Precision Straight Edge

For everything from checking plane soles and whet stones for flatness to precise power tool setups, a benchmark for straightness is an essential shop standard. This 24" model is made of solid polished steel and machined flat to within 0.0011" and parallel to within 0.002". It comes with an official calibration certificate ensuring accuracy. Weighing in at almost 3 pounds, it stays put where you want it, freeing up both hands to make adjustments. Importantly, the finger grips provide a non-slip grip, ensuring that you won’t drop the straight edge and potentially throw it out of calibration. The hang-hole allows safe, convenient storage.

Perfect for jointers, planers, table saws and more. Measures approximately 1-5/16"W x 24"L x 5/16" thick. Weighs 2.8 lbs. Use with a standard set of feeler gauges for determining tolerances.

1) Submitted by Dave Gaul, from Sinking Spring, PA on 11/2/2009 Customer Rating: Bought this as a last ditch effort to save an old jointer I aquired for minimal cost. Having this straight edge helped isolate the problem with the jointer, and now it works like it is just about new! Of course, since then it has been used for many other things, such as leveling planer table and checking board straightness! Have a set of Groz Engineer's squares that I got from Rockler and they have been great too.
