Black and White Ebony is highly sought after and considered a rare find. It features striking contrast between a creamy background and thick, dark chocolate bands. This wood has silky-fine texture with mostly straight grain and is very hard. It turns nicely and takes a fabulous polish. These turning blanks are available in an assortment of sizes for pens, carvings, bottle stoppers, game pieces, tool handles, table legs, spindles, finials, candlesticks and whatever else your imagination can conjure up!

This wood turns well. It is a little on the drier side so there is dust when working it. I find that when I am drilling it my drill bit walks even with a drill press. As you can see in the photo the grain is unbelievable which is what raises my rating of this wood from good to very good. I have found, however, that the grain is not always so dramatic. I have recieved pieces which don't have such a tone contrast but when you get a good piece it is one of the most unique woods you will ever see.

The black & white Ebony pieces I got were beautiful, with a consistant variation throughout the full length of the piece. Turns great and looks great! Thanks for the gorgeous blanks.

Turns well, the grain pattern in the piece I bought lent itself to wide curves, rather than fine beads and coves.
