Painter’s Pyramids

The usual way of finishing the top side immediately after bottom the is to flip the project and set it on a large board studded with nails. Painter’s Pyramids work the same way, but unlike nail boards, they can be moved around quickly for any size project, they won’t leave prick marks in the surface, and they nest into a neat, compact stack for storage. Molded with a slightly rounded tip from a non-stick, non-reactive polymer, they will not mar the finish or the wood. Each pyramid supports up to 200 lbs and stands about 2" high. Sold in packs of 10.

Lightweight and compact — perfect for jobsite use. Holes allow easy grip. Can be fastened to a sawhorse by passing a strap through the holes. Holes makes a convenient parking space for small craft brushes. Non-stick, non-reactive, non-marring. Impermeable to paint and solvents. Each triangular face measures 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" x 2-3/8".

This bookcase is made from 3/4 plywood and is 48" X 24" X 12", so it is heavy. I used of these to hold the case off the bench and it worked great! Oh yes, it's orange!! Tend to blow around when used when spraying small objects resulting in the project falling off the mids. Recommend sticking the mids to double faced carpet tape stuck to your finishing table. Outstanding for use in laminating materials such as MDF and Formica useing contact cement.

I have just stained and varnished a cabinet using the pyramids and actually shaved 3 days off the process because I did not have to wait 24 hours between finishing each side of the unit.
