Cutting crown molding doesn't have to be difficult! Crown-Cut eliminates the complication of cutting crown and cove molding, giving you perfect miters, every time. What's the secret? Crown-Cut holds the molding at its intended angle while you cut it. No more compound cuts and tedious trial and error! Before Crown-Cut, miscalculated compound cuts produced sloppy miters that screamed for caulk and paint. Even if you're using the coping method for inside miters, Crown-Cut will prove useful for the initial cuts. For a professional looking job, cut your crown and cove the easy way!

My last crown molding job in our bedroom I used angle tables and waisted a lot of time changing the settings on my mitersaw, especially for the odd angles.. this gadget made it a lot easier. Unfortunately only one side due to the motor housing but it cuts it far enough to finish up with a handsaw.
The next modification it could use is an adjustable plate on the back that fits over the fence and can be secured.

This Bench Dog tool is well worth the price. Factory crown stops for my Hitachi 10" compound miter saw would cost $90 and would still require auxiliary fences to hold 3" crown at spring angle on the right side.

Stock holds firmly in the stop and I get clean accurate miters every time.

Its fence angle was about 89.5° out of the box, so it would rock when I tried to hold it against the saw's fence. I ran the plastic body through my table saw, and then over a sheet of 100 grit sandpaper to trim the rest of the way, in order to square up the fence with the base. Now it sits firm and stable on the saw.

It works better for right cuts (4 1/4" stock with my Hitachi 10" compound miter saw) than left (3 7/8" stock) because its fence is fairly high and the motor housing hits. With 12" blade it will cut wider stock and with a 10" compound slider it would probably cut 4 1/2" stock; maybe 6 1/2" with a 12" blade.

It works better on saws with a wide table or wing extensions to support the outboard side. I made a block for my little Hitachi saw to support this crown jig.

This product is well worth the money. The jig is easy to set up and once it is in the correct position, making the cut becomes easy. It makes an amateur look like a Pro!

Product worked very well, exactly as advertised. I used it only on inside miters and they came out great. In the past I have just made marks on the saw table, which works OK if you are very careful. This jig was much easier and the miters were very consistent and tight.

This was the first time I have installed crown molding. This product worked great making all my outside and inside cuts match up with little or no defects. I used a compound miter saw and if you follow the directions it works great. The only problem I found was when using the jig on the rightside of the saw for outside miters too clear the arm of the saw the jig reaches the end of the saw table and wants to tip down. Jig could use the same non slip coating that the cheaper model has. I would recommend buying a angle finder to get the correct angle of the wall before cutting and set the saw for that angle, I did this and knowing the angle and dividing it by two my angles came out just right. This was a great purchase and well worth the money even if you use it anly the one time your job comes out looking professional
