I have used this product for over a month and have had absolutely NO problems. I disagree with the comments about the knobs being poorly built. It is NOT necessary to tighten the knobs super tight which is probably why the knobs have not held up. I love this item and use it daily and would recommend it to anyone!

I bought this feather board for my table saw to hold thin stock against the fence while ripping. It has two adjustment knobs, one of which spreads an aluminum insert in the miter slot to lock the feather board in place. Although it is plastic, it works very well, and is a good value.

This featherboard is the only one that I've found works consistently well for use on my Bosch jobsite table saw. I have JessEm and looked at Kreg, but they are clearly made for predominately router table use. The adjustment slots in the Bench Dog are longer and allow a greater range of adjustment for standard cutting. Most of my work is with large stock, dimension lumber or trims for primarily Craftsman style work. I have not had the T-handle problem, and have had one of my two featherboards for over 4 years with periodic use.

I had to modify the slots slightly to accommodate the 5/16" bolts on my fence mount but otherwise it is an excellent design.

I've had this tool for a few months, and found it is easy to set up and works perfectly.
My one complaint is that the adjuster knobs failed after only a few uses. The 1/4-20 nut spun in the soft plastic 'T' handle with only moderate tightening force. The easy and entirely satisfactory fix was to replace the adjuster knobs with steel wingnuts.

Works ok but the plastic 'T' handles need metal reinforcement. The handle that tightens the unit to the T-slot failed the first time I used it. Disappointing considering the price and that other Bench Dog products I have are pretty decent.

The first time I used it the plastic knobs twisted off. I used gel super glue to hold them on. The fingers on mine are warped. Not a well made product in my opinion.

Easy to use and adjust. Fits miter slot with no issues. Holds wood with just the right pressure. Time will tell if it holds up to the demand but so far so good.

It works great but just like others have said, the plastic T-handle broke off the first time I used it which was disappointing.

I have used a feather loc for a few years now. Works ok but has a few flaws. It is difficult to adjust quickly making it inconvenient at times. It does not lock in the slot securely unless you use a lot a of turning force. Use is limited since it is tied to the miter slot location. Reasonably often the cut configuration won't allow use of the loc. Much safer to use this than nothing but thinking of getting a magnetic type. Should be more flexible in terms of placement and faster to set.

I have purchased other Bench Dog products in the past and I was very disappointed that they would put out a product like this. The plastic T handles immediately stripped when applying minimal force.

The featherboard itself is fine, the "T" handles are made of a soft plastic and of marginal quality. Even a moderate amount of tightening will cause the nut to break free of the handle. As another reviewer noted, this part needs to have metal reinforcing. At this point I have to go to a local woodworking store and buy a different style of handle, a shame.
Editor's note: No need to go to another source. Our customer service at 800-376-7856 will be able to assist with replacement for the broken knob.
