Works exactly as described! I had to get the optional kit to get my PC 892 to fit. I was able to get it attached to my Rockler table and adjusted in about 30 minutes. I love this! The ease and accuracy of the height adjustment was superb.

This unit is wonderfully engineered and manufactured. It was a pleasure to install. Solid as a rock. I put a PC 8902 motor in with the bench dog adapter. Instructions very clear. Absolutely glitch free installation into the Bench Dog solid phenolic top. Shimmed the plate with Lexan the stuff used in screen doors instead of glass which is 3/32" 0.100" thick from Lowes in the glass dept.. Cut four triangular pieces 2.5" on the equal sides with a cutout for the mounting screw in the left rear and right front. Held them in place with a little spray adhesive. The left rear corner required one index card shim in addition. Zeroed a rabbiting bit and raised it 3/8" according to the height adjuster, did a test cut and it was within 0.002 on the first try. Sweet!!!

I've been using the ProLift Router Adjustment System for about a year and a half and I'm pleased with the product's precision, accuracy and ease of use. The only reason I won't rate it as excellent are the poor quality of the plastic router inserts, specifically as it relates to insert thickness. The ProLift router plate is precisely machined to accept an insert that's 0.125" thick. The 1.5" insert that came with the ProLift has an average thickness of 0.118". The 2.5" insert I purchased later has an average thickness of 0.117". Both measurements are +/-0.0005 Because I route numerous pieces less than 12 inches long, this thickness variation does not meet my requirements. I purchased a sheet of 0.125" ABS plastic sheet and made my own inserts.

Pro lift table high quality. Lift works great. Disappointed to find out that Bench Dog only has a 2-1/2" insert to fit their table plate. I am routing raised panel doors and the router bit opening needs a larger insert to do them. I called Bench Dog and they do not have any that large nor do they say ither manufactured inserts will work with their Pro Lift table.

Excellent construction, 100% functional, elegant design. No flimsy afterthought parts, every piece has a purpose. Clever zero indicator, quick and accurate height adjustment. Made in USA, even better.
The box is suitable for high altitude air drop. None of the contents poking through at the corners as with too many packages.
Very well done, very satisfying purchase.

It took a while to get it flush with my router table, the big Bench Dog iron top, also highly rated, but it really is everything I had hoped for in reading the other reviews. Micro and macro-height adjustments are a snap. I can't imagine going back to going down under for bit changes again. Is this thing strong? I could use it for lifting diesil engines. Even the carboard box it comes in could be used for putting the car up on blocks.

This is an amazing piece of machinery - well built, smooth and just has to be durable. I installed with a P-C 7518 router on a Dewalt 746 table saw with Bench Dog Tools 40-102 ProMax Cast Iron Router Table Extension. HEAVY Duty!
Just one problem - the handle on the tilt wheel rubs the router. It needs about 1/4" removed. For this set-up, that is not a problem.

I just recently finished installing the Bench Dog lift (and steel top) and all I can say is WOW!!!
This is my fourth router table set up (if you count the original piece of plywood with a router bolted to it as a “router table”). The ease and speed of bit changes alone is worth the nearly $800 the top and lift cost me.
Then there is the issue of the ease of height adjustment. Being able to make very minute adjustments to the height of the bit FROM THE TOP of the table is indescribably convenient and greatly simplifies setting up complicated cuts like rail and stile cuts, tongue and groove cuts and 45 degree lock-miter cuts.
There is no doubt that this top and lift combination has greatly reduced the amount of time it takes to complete what used to be very time consuming work.
The one drawback to the lift is the insert rings. There are only 2 of them (1 1/4 inch and 2 1/2 inch and they a pretty flimsy plastic construction. Metal rings with perhaps a wider range of sizes would be a good idea, but I sure would not let this stand in the way of buying the lift.

I purchased this lift about two weeks ago and have used it sparingly in the past few days. The overall construction is solid and the movement is smooth and accurate. Once the height is set and the lock screw is tightened, there is absolutely no movement. The main disappointment is the cheezy insert that fits around the bits. It is made out a thin piece of ABS plastic that absolutely needs the three tiny screws installed when in use. Since I generally don't keep screwdrivers at the router station, it's just one more tool that I need to go fetch in order to change a bit. Not really that much of a problem at the moment because it got shredded the first time I didn't put the screws back in. It's a colossally stupid idea to put a plastic insert on such an otherwise well-built piece of machinery. If I'd been aware of this tidbit before purchasing it, I would have kept looking.

Excellent system, easy to install and works like a dream! Wish it would have had the steel inserts, but the plastic ones work great. A friend has a lift with some kind of belt system and seems to always need adjusting, said he was going to buy the Bench Dog lift, with no belts to adjust.

I have had my Benchdog router cabinet for a few years now. It is very heavy-duty with giant acme threads to raise and lower the motor. It is all metal, the only plastic is the locking knob. It includes three inserts for various sized router bits. Even these are all metal. The only reason I won't rate this as excellent is the lack of a fine depth adjustment. Adjustments are made by a brace turning a socket and nut. However, it does make fine adjustments but requires two hands.

I recently purchased this monster to hold a Porter Cable 7518 router in my Rockler router table with the 4" galvanized dust collector box. Upon installing, I found out that the adjusting screw lock handle protruds past the door opening. After giving Rockler and Bench Dog a call and finding out that they both say it will not fit this application,adaptation was next. Simply remove the T handle lock screw. Insert in vise. Put a 5/16 die over the threads and cut off 3/8". It now is inside box and functions just fine. As far as the table being able to stand up to the weight and 3 1/4 horses, time will tell!
