This is a good hinge if you want the to show the pin to create a style look to your piece. I used them on a lamp table I made from red oak with inset doors. I had no trouble with the gaps and found all hinges to be consistent. However, I had a lot of difficulty getting the doors to close and line up properly with the face frame and the opposing door because they are inset and not overlap they needed to line up perfectly. There can be some play in the hinge pin and they do seem to not have all exactly the same play. So in spite of lining up my initial screw holes perfectly, I found I had to change screw positions on one hinge to get everything lined up. For inset doors, if you don't need to see the hinge to create style, it would be far easier to use european inset hinges that are fully adjustable. I would consider that more next time I built inset doors, but overall, a good hinge for the money. And if your doors overlap the face frame, it would be very easy to use these hinges in that type of application.

Considering these are a middle line price product, I thought they were pretty inferior. I tried to order the next higher priced product, but it was out of stock - no wonder.

I used two of these hinges for a wall mounted bulletin board cabinet. The hinges with a little precise care were easy to install correctly. Like any no mortise hinge, care must be taken to do the installation right the first time. I consider these hinges aok and the cost reasonable.

I used these on two separate ocassions. The first time I didn't have any problems. The second time I had a gap problem. There is supposed to be a 1/16" gap between the cabinet stile and the door stile. With some of the hinges, I was having between 3/16-1/8". I ended up notching out the door stile to get an even gap.
