Excellent material construction and the assembled product is outstanding. The top rack is definitely an option worth purchasing. The only real complaint I had was it was a chore getting everything squared up during assembly. Once I got past that hurdle, it was smooth sailing. I was able to load the rack down with everything I originally intended to put on the rack and them some. It rolls to the project so everything it right where you need it. It rolls out of the way when not in use. Great product!

Very well constructed and easy to put together. The casters are high quality - a plus since I have this rack completely loaded. It is a little awkward to get the angles lined up while you tighten the nuts, but the judicious use of a few clamps and the problem was solved. I also ordered the top tray and now I can find all of my glues and other clamping supplies. My only issue is that I wish I had purchased this rack years ago!

This product went together easily followed instructions and without any issues. I added additional 3 shelves and built my own top. Very sturdy and the casters were of very high quality.
I ordered extra bars for the extra shelves I built. You cannot build one cheaper than what they sell for the same quality of materials!!

This rack is great! Do not have a lot of room in the shop so it makes it easy to move equipment as needed. Mounted the Wall mount vac from Rockler on one side and all of my clamps on the other. Well worth the time and money.

Well built rack. I've had my clamps on the walls of my shop over the years and it was a pain to always go to the wall to get them. I added a few of the extensions to the rack and it does a super job holding all my clamps. It rolls smoothly around the shop and all clamps are right where I need them. Highly recommended.

A++++ This clamp rack really helped to clean up my garage shop. It holds a ton of my pipe clamps, F-clamps, C-clamps, Pony clamps and pinch clamps. Well built and easy to assemble. Don't wait a year or so to make this investment if you want to clean up clamp clutter!

The rack is sturdy and can take a heavy load. It's balanced and rolls well. I assembled it easily with a socket set in about an hour. Be sure to use the revised instructions and follow the bolt order as you will otherwise not be able to get a socket on the nuts of some of the bolts. Looks like I am going to enjoy this for a long time. I am considering gettting a second one to hold my compressor and nail guns, etc.

At last all my clamps are in one place. As others reported, didn't realize I had this many clamps.
No more searching for hours for the one clamp needed to do a 30 second job. My assembly table stays clear for actual assembly rather than a place to park clamps & glue to be handy for the project.
Very sturdy construction, much better than I could shop build for the same price. No problem assembling the rack; but follow the directions.

Outstanding. In over 35+ years of woodworking I've looked for good clamp storage solutions, built a few, used garage & basement spaces creatively, but never had a solution that so well fulfilled my needs as the Pack Rack. I bought the basic system and 2 sets of longer clamp rods, 2 extra shorter clamp rod sets, 1 extra shelf support hardware system (giving a bottom and 2 mid-level shelves), and the top tray. As noted variously by others: ONE This is the first time I've had all of my clamps in one place at one time (34 bar clamps 2' - 4' long, 12 pipe clamps 2'-4' long, 14 vice-grip clamps from 6" - 36" long, 20 spring clamps 2" to 8", 16 woodscrew clamps from 4" to 12" (and one 16"... why one and why 16"? don't know), 6 web clamps, 24 6" c-clamps, 12 miscellaneous sized c-clamps, 4 corner clamps, 4 corner clamp squares, a 4' 2-sided clamp and a few other miscellaneous clamps; TWO Its nice to easily pull the clamps to the work than the other way around; and THREE I've reclaimed about 12' of very important wall space that was not mobile. I too am looking at buying another rack system to store several other tools and long items (e.g., straight edges, t-squares, 3' to 4' drill bits and drill bit extensions, wall fish-rod sections, router & saw fences & mitre guages, etc., etc.). It takes an outstanding tool like this, a Shopsmith, a top-notch router table, or something equally remarkable for me to stop using it long enough to write about it.

The Pack Rack was just as advertised. A well built strong system for storing clamps and other items. Follow the assembly instructions exactly and you will have no trouble putting it together in an hour or so. I filled it up in no time. I bought 2 extra sets of shelf hooks and have cleaned out 2 drawers full of hand clamps and other unrelated items. I can wheel it anywhere in the shop and work off it conveniently. I bought extra rods but so far haven't needed them but I'm sure I will figure out something to hang on them. Thanks Rockler for another fine product.

I have struggled for over 30 years to store all my woodworking clamps carefully and neatly. I bought the Rockler stand and put it together last Christmas. I have enjoyed it every since. It allows me to access the type of clamp quickly....and allows me to quickly clean up the shop and return the clamps to their proper storage location. Great product!

I am fortunate enough to have a nearby Rockler store with a helpful staff. I saw the Pack Rack with a Rockler dust collector installed in it. Looked like a good idea. As a rule, I like Rocker tools because they are well engineered.
The Pack Rack went together easily. The instructions were clear. I really like the substantial caster brakes. Well built. Only complaint about the construction: While the is very stable in one axis (where it looks like an "A"), it is loosey-goosey in the other. Could fix this by providing eight corner gussets to stabilize the frame. I'll probably add some when I get the time.
For a brief time I used the Pack Rack to hold my Rockler dust collector. Later on, I put the collector on a wall and used the rack to hold clamps. That's what it was designed to do. I use the bottom to hold a small air compressor. The mid deck holds glue bottles and related stuff.
All in all, the Pack Rack is a very useful addition to my shop. I recommend it.

This is a great invention. I have thought about building a clamp rack for a long time, but it is much easier to buy one from Rockler and assemble it without all the bother of designing and drilling one yourself. Aside from putting a few bolts in the wrong holes, assembly is a snap. The only problemm I had was that one of the top crosspieces was made backwards, so it would not fit properly. I called Rockler and was lucky enough to speak to Casey. She promised that they would send out a new part promptly and they did. I received it about three or four days later. No complaints from me. Great product & great service.

I have been going to build my own traveling clamp rack, but have too many projects that need to be done to stop and do it. Meanwhile the clamps were stuck here and there around the shop. This rack went together as the instructions said to do it in an hour or so. It is sturdy and well built with great wheels and rolls nicely around the shop with clamps.

I received my Pack Rack promptly from Rockler. The package was very heavy! I was able to follow the clear directions in the package and assembled the rack in a fairly short amount of time. One word of caution: Make sure you put the bolts and nuts for the initial part of the assembly in the correct hole shown. They are close together at the corners and you will have trouble tightening them if you attach them in the wrong order. I know – I did it wrong the first time! Also, resist the urge to start hanging clamps on the rack before you have all the bolts and nuts in place. With only one bolt at each connection point the rack won’t hold the clamps and the rack will go askew. Guess how I know! I only had one other issue that was resolved promptly by Rockler. One of the locking caster pedals had broken off in shipment. I called Rocker and they apologized and said they would send a replacement. I appreciated the no hassle problem solving. Believe the other positive ratings of this rack. It is a great addition to my shop.

Being on that works out of the garage I’m constantly reorganizing in a attempt to find more room and I’ve found going vertical is an efficient way.
This thing went together quickly with the only real problem being getting a wrench on a couple of the bolts for the final tightening. I quickly found a piece of plywood for a bottom tray and added a tray on top along with a magnetic tool holder. The thing is sturdy and very handy as mobile storage. The casters are very substantial and work well and roll easily. My only real issue is with the shelf brackets, they work fine once installed but precise measurements are required when cutting and you better be sure that’s where you want it because once made they’ll only fit at that point. I ordered an extra set of shelf brackets but have yet to install one as more than one shelf might get a little cluttered. Overall a nifty idea and I’m very pleased I made the purchase. O yeah, when I first saw this I thought I can build this out of angle iron; one trip to the hardware store quickly dispelled that idea, I could have done it but for about twice the price. Great value.

When I first saw the pack rack system, I immediately recognized the possibility of using it as the platform for building a mobile storage system for my lathe tools and miter gauges. The rack pack is very sturdy and stable. Building the upper and lower lathe racks out of maple was fairly straightforward, using the cross rods as the anchor points. The individual miter gauge holders are also attached to the cross rods and made from 1.5" aluminum angle that I picked up at the local DIY store. The melamine shelves also come from the DIY store, along with so .25" x 1" aluminum stock to make the upper shelf cross brace.

When I saw this product and it was on sale, I jumped to buy it since I have several clamps just taking up shelve space. Putting it together really requires the revised instructions, to put in the bolts in the right sequence to allow tightening them. The only issue with the instructions is that they failed to mentioned switching the casters when putting them on the second set of long stretchers.
After completion, I didn't realize just how many clamps I had. This rack holds most of them on a solid, moveable frame and frees up shelve space for other items. I only wish there was more space for the wooden hand clamps and there was some place for the extension rods for the Rockler bar clamps. I may also buy a couple more of the clamp rods to handle some clamps that didn't fit. BTW, storing long clamps upside down with a bungee seems like a good idea.

It was easy to assemble (after reading directions). I did not know I had so many clamps until I started loading the rack. I still have more clamps that it will hold, and it holds a lot. It rolls easily across my garage, and I am looking forward to putting it to full use. I may have to buy a second rack for the rest of my clamps. You may want to purchase extra clamp rods; I bought two extra, and I should have gotten four. It is an excellent product.

I am a classic do it your self guy. First time I laid eyes on this I knew I needed one and thought, now I can make that.
I priced out all the parts from local home improvement and quickly decided to order the real thing. It was so easy to put together, nice paint finish and well thought out arrangement.
I bought the long clamp rods and found out that some of my clamps were too long to mount the normal way. No problem I just turned them upside down, clamped them to the lowest rod, installed a small bungee to secure the clamp rod at the top and all is well. Feels good to reach for a clamp and be able to find the one I need. I have been thinking of buying another and put shelves on every clamp rod just to have all my small items close at hand.

When I first completed my dedicated shop space (a single car space walled off from a 3-car [2 in tandem] garage with AC added), I thought I had great idea. I had added a large pegboard area and dedicated a part of it for clamps using long hooks. Until some heavy clamps threataened to rip down the pegboard.
Enter the Rockler Pack Rat. It solved the problem beautifully, without further adding to the crowded conditions in my all-mobile-equipment shop, and helping avoid tool clutter. As is my custom, I had carefully researched the competition and the possibility/probability of building a fixed rack. I am not in the least dissapointed with the purchase. In about 2 hours after delivery, I had assembled the rack and gathered up all of my wide selection of clamps even including some mini-clamps from an old period of wooden model ship-building before woodworking returned to its prime position in the retirement era. An excellent product.

Build your own clamp storage rack; I never seemed to get the time to actually do it. Buying the Pack Rack was an answer to scattered clamps around the shop. The rack went together very well and is certainly up to the challenge of storing clamps regardless of what they weigh. I ordered some additional pieces in order to customize the basic stand and was completely satisfied with the results. My stand is loaded with heavy bar clamps, pipe clamps and everything else in between. The stand is very sturdy, extremely portable and has allowed me to organize and be able to find the right clamp for the job.

I am always weary of bolt-together products and their stability. This is a very sturdy product. I like the mobility it provides for a modular-style shop so that you can modify your set-up without being restricted by a wall mounted unit. I also opted to not purchase the top option, but rather mounted an inexpensive tool box and keep dowels, biscuits, and other joining hardware there. Be sure to pony up for the additional shelf rods to really maximize it's usefulness. I extended the shelves I made out about 4" on either side and routered slots in those shelves to accept the smaller bar clamps rather than take up space on the face of the unit.

What can I say? I was always going to build a clamp rack some day. Well that day never came and so I was very pleased when Rockler released this new product. And when I assembled the rack I too should have looked at the instructions closer. The lower and upper front/back stretchers are definitely different. It is critical that the bolt installation instructions be followed exactly. Great wheels. Clarification should be made on shelf creation using the supplied shelf brackets.

The Pack Rack clamp storage system is a great way to store clamps. When I purchased it, it did localize most all of my various clamps and is easy to roll around. I have it in front of some shelves that I don't need access to most of the time and it works great! I also later purchased the long clamp rods to store the 4' long Rockler bar clamps and extensions. I didn't realize that these long clamp rods did not come with the pins needed to secure them from lateral movement, so I had to use the clips from a couple of other rods. It was also not clear that the long clamp rods extended on both sides of the Pack Rack. It would have been better to have additional holes in the rods to allow them to be placed so they could extend on only one side of the rack, if desired. These rods did come with red end caps to allow one to avoid the ends that stick out.

The value of this tool is the ability to customize it to suit your individual needs.
After months of tripping over clamps and cluttering up my work space with misplaced tools, I decided to build a mobile cart that would hold what I needed and help me be more organized. I bought everything I thought I would need and then got on the internet to finalize my design and found the "Pack Rack", so I ordered it instead, along with the long clamp rods, an extra set of shelf hangers and the top cap.
I made two shelves spaced for my needs beteen the base shelf and the top cap shelf. On these inner shelves I attached open drawers mounted to full extension drawer slides that pull open to one side. On the top half of the opposite side I attached two cut-to-fit segments of GearTrack channel using 5/16" bolts secured with fender washers and nylon nuts. On the back of the rack I u-bolted a 36" segement of GearTrack channel level with my top inner shelf. Then I U-bolted a 2 foot wide section of pegboard that extends to the base shelf. By attaching the right accessories and hooks to the channels and pegboard I can store anything from my clamps to my pencils.
Everything I need is at hand when I need it and is put promptly back in it place when I'm finished.
No more tripping over clamps. No more wasted time searching for the tape measure or some other small tool. And when I tuck the whole thing in the corner for the night, I say to myself, "Man, this is great!"

Even though clamp storage is a typical magazine DIY project, due to the great amount of weight that can be involved, going with a beefy metal rack is the way to go. Made out of wood, it would be visually very massive. Fully loaded, this slim-lined cart is still easily moved about, and can be easily customized.
My only complaint stems from the razor-sharp edges on some of the pieces. If you didn't notice this right away, one could easily incur a nasty cut.

Very solid design and the casters are great! Really helped me in organizing all my clamps. I added the top box and bottom shelf and will add a middle shelf. You MUST follow the order in the assembly, but even doing that, if you don't tighten the first bolts all the way before you insert the next set, you can't tighten them. Moving those holes 1/8 of an inch would solve this.

I have been using the pack rack for about 2 months. Instead of having different size clamps stored here and there, this organizes all of them in one place. I had no trouble with the assembly, except some of the hardware was missing. The company quickly and graciously sent out the missing parts. It is great to be able to roll it right up to the job and then push it out of the way for storage. No buyer's remorse here.

Finally a place to keep all those clamps that just seem to grow in numbers. I had a bit of trouble assembling the unit they need to mark a number or letter on the parts. Once together it is rock solid. But it needs to be a bit taller for the long clamps.I made a bottom shelf and center shelf and a box for the top. The only changes to make this better would be to make the clamp rods square not round so the clamps have a bit more to clamp on. This is a must have for any size shop

Just received my Pack Rack clamp & tool storage. The assembly was fairly simple as long as you do it according to the directions. It definately solved my problem of have lots of different types of clamps and no good place to keep them. The rollers are great and it is so nice to be able to roll it to where you need it and not having to look all over for the right clamp. It holds a lot of tools and it very solid. I would highly recommend this rack to anyone with a wood shop who needs a little organization.

Great idea and for the most part, well built. I agree with other reviews regarding the height, will probably order the longer rods for the big clamps. I put in the bottom shelving, middle shelving and made my own box for the top, this makes the rack very useful and a great addition to the organization of my shop. The wheels are the best part of the design making it totally portable.

My unit did not go together well and the holes did not line up. Very frustrating after pulling everything out of the box. Had I bought it at the store I would have brought it back. I will likely bore out the poorly fit bars because the size and pictures of it in use seem worth the effort vs. repacking and sending back.
Sturdy material and wheels. Seems to be a flexible and stout unit.

The assemble was easy and it does its clamp holding job in a super sturdy fashion. The casters are indeed of excellent quality.

Pyramidal profile lends stability when moving and loading. Wheel-brakes help the rack stay put. Bottom rack is essential for holding small pieces, but you could make one cheaply and easily. Do-it-yourselfers can probably build a better design or one that suits their particular needs. However, if you don’t have the time or inclination to design and build a simple rack, this is a decent addition to your shop. Considering the time and materials for a custom rack, this is a fair value.

I have one similar to this I made with [steel]scrap I had around the shop. I like mine better because it is taller and most of my long clamps fit, also all corners are welded and is much sturdier.

A sturdy rack that helps consolidate a large collection of clamps, saves a great deal of wall space. Flexibility of hanger bar locations allows storage of all kinds and sizes up to 48 inches long of clamps. Assembly is straightforward though tedious. Expect to spend 1-2 hours, and follow directions exactly. Installing bolts in the wrong order can make assembly more difficult than necessary. Price seems high, though the excellent casters probably add to the cost. Wait until it's on sale and it is a good deal.

I use this rack for my firewood...it holds plenty for the weekend. And I have my old 32" TV on it so I can watch sports while in the spa! It went together easily enough. The first carriage bolts must be placed as directed, I missed one and it was a bear to tighten, I also fired up my mig-welder and tacked it 16 places so it would stay true moving it around over uneven concrete back and forth. For a clamp rack it would be great if you had the room. This rack is well built with well chosen parts.

Very well constructed, holds a ton of clamps, getting the tool apron for free was great. Nice to have some of your most used hand tools out in the open to grab when needed. Couple things that would have been nice if included. The top cap should be included in this and would have been nice if the wood for the shelves would have been included as well. Overall happy with the purchase it will take up some room in your shop so make sure you have the room to spare.

Very sturdy build. I wish it was taller because my taller clamps hang off the bottom(60") I found out that you must put the right bolts together in the right order or you want be able to tighten the bolts tight. Wheels are excellent. Would be better if bars were solid instead of hollow. It took me about 2 hours to assemble because I learned the hard way about doing the install in order sequence. If it was 12 to 18 inches taller would be great. All in All this is very great job. Thanks.
