This attractive timepiece makes a great accent for any desk. Of solid brass and polished chrome construction, it features a precision quartz movement. Includes the clock and arch, a battery and mounting screws. Create your own wood base. Pen Holder sold separately.

To replace the battery:

1. Slide the tip of a utility kife or other thin bladed knife between the edge of the clock face bezel and the brass housing. CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch the case surface with the blade.
2. With a slight twist of the blade the face will pop out of the brass case.
3. Pull off the rubber ring surrounding the insert
4. To remove the back of the case slip the tip of the knife between the brass housing of the clock face and the steel back
5. Replace the battery with a SR626SW or equivalent
6. Snap cover back in place, replace the rubber ring and reinstall into the housing.

I will agree with the customer that wrote that instructions should come with the items. and store purchased items to get a replacments online one needs to fidgure out the item numbers of the store sales slip because to get more. The only I could look up the item I didn't see it in the catalog.It is more than a hour drive to the store.

Very nice looking item, however,should add a printed information sheet with the product telling buyers that the clock has a plastic "block" under the stem to preserve the battery and must be removed before clock will run and clock opens from the front. Very simple to do without a picture.

Clock not running, dead on arrival. To expensive to return. No way to open clock and change battery. Extremely dissapointed.

Editor's note: For replacing battery the front of these clocks open in a similar pattern to a watch back by taking a sharp edge to the seam to open.

I rate the appearance "Excellent", however I rate it "Poor" overall because of the difficulty in taking off the face plate to adjust the clock. Too much of a chance of scratching the face. On the positive side I must say I have had nothing but an excellent shopping experiences with Rockler over the years.

I can't get the back open to get to the battery and the adjustment fell off when I tried to set the time. Worst product I have ever bought from Rockler. Very disappointing.
