Festool Kapex KS 120 EB Sliding Compound
Miter Saw
This is the one we’ve all been waiting for - order yours today!
With unprecedented cutting capacity, a compact and lightweight design,
remarkable dust collection capability, and a seemingly endless list of
premium features, the Kapex is the most advanced sliding compound miter
saw on the market today. It weighs only 47 lbs. and features a unique rail-
forward design, allowing for easy transportation and operation right up
against a wall. But don’t let its small footprint fool you - it has the cutting
capacity to effortlessly cut trim molding almost 4-3/4" tall and hardwoods
more than 3" thick. The saw blade bevels 47° to either side and the
rotary base turns 50° to the left and 60° to the right, while the
convenient quick-release clamp, easy-to-read scales and a fine-inclination
angle-adjustment feature make setting angles a breeze. A dual-laser
marking system outlines the width of the kerf for precise cut placement. An
included angle transfer device eliminates complex calculations by copying the
angle directly from the wall to the saw - plus, it stows neatly in the base.
Superior electronics, variable speed capability, meticulous dust collection; the
impressive list of features goes on and on. Includes the saw, base and a
high-quality 10" carbide blade.

I just bought this saw last week and installed 200' of 3-1/4" crown in 5 hours, this saw is fantastic. It performed the way it was meant to,and with the crown extensions it made the job fast and accurate. When I saw this saw for the first time, I went the next day and bought one.
Laser worked great also! Well worth the money! I will by another one for my shop to set up permently. I am selling my older Makita LS1013's.

Acurate 100%, seems to collect dust on the miter scale even with vacum, angle finder works great for inside corners but stores poorly, need to grind down the mounting nut to get it out. Bevel adjust is awesome. Wish the were more blade choices.

The tool was shipped quickly and I used it the first day I received it. The next day I replaced my 12 inch Ridgid saw with the Kapex. I haven't regretted that move at all. The Kapex does all it says, I love the clean cuts and double laser beams for very accurate cuts. Made a large picture frame with very tight fitting mitered corners. I recommend this tool to anyone and the price was well worth it.

Also reporting fast product delivery. Haven't applied the Kapex to hard-time production yet; been spending a little time getting acquainted. I've already removed my old saw from my permanent shop mitre station and replaced it with this amazing tool. The accuracy seems to be as promised. The saw has a very comfortable feel. It is quieter than both my other slide compounds. Variable speed is nice, but really relegated to non-wood materials I don't usually encounter. All features feel well engineered and executed. I would recommend this saw to anyone. [] a truly awesome tool.

I've been using the saw for a couple of weeks now, and overall I am very satisfied with it. However, there are a few quirks that I think should have been better thought out.
The movable fences are secured with a latch, but also have a set screw to keep them from coming off completely. The set screw is an hex drive, and the allen wrench for it doesn't store on the saw anywhere. Unfortunately to get full use of the bevel, you need to remove the fences because they get in the way of the saw.
Additionally, the saw has a miter range of 60 degrees to the right, but if you store the angle finder where it is intended, you are unable to get the full range.
I prefer to end on a positive note, and I find the saw amazingly accurate. There is no slop or play in the saw movement, so if the cut is bad, you can't blame the saw. The extra cutting depth feature works great, and is easy to use.
I would recommend the saw to anyone, but I think that, for the price, some of the quirks should have been more thought out and taken care of in the design.

My company, Inteplast Group just ordered the Kapex miter saw last week. It went on sale July 1, and that is the day I received it. Your service is outstanding. I am so pleased to be working with this amazing tool. This saw will have any good woodworker just drooling once they get their hands on it and use it for a few days.
Yes it is expensive but worth the extra expense. Thank you for your continued good service, have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
