I installed the lift in a reconfigured 43" X 60" desk purchased at Goodwill for $12.50 on furniture half off day. I turned the right hand pedestal 90 degrees and bolted it to the left hand pedestal, added a corner leg and 5 no-mar swivel 4" rubber wheels. The top insert removes so the machine, on its little wood platform, can be raised for sewing at different heights. With the inset in it makes a great cutting table. The desk top height is 28". Most sewing tables are too high [30"] for back comfort. I am 5'5" and I can now sew for hours without a back ache. The lift itself can be a little stubborn to operate, but after 4 years it still works every time. Be sure you adjust the lift height for optimum surface contact with the desk for flat sewing. You cannot buy a sewing desk like this [with 26" deep dovetailed drawers], so I finally built the one I dreamed of and recycled this big desk in the process!

This was the finishing touch for my new sewing cabinet built by a wonderful cabinet maker. It is terrific and is very easy to adjust. I have a sensitive back and lifting the machine put absolutely no pressure on it. Thank you for providing such a fine product.

I purchased the lift and plans for my wife. The plans were modified to meet the need. The lift has worked every time and makes the cabinet that much better. My wife has been very happy with her sewing cabinet and has a few friends green because they can not purchase one like it.
The cabinet is made of maple with the lift board framed in cherry. I inserted a tile in the right flip lid for use of an iron.

We had been trying to find a way to put my sewing machine head into my grandmother's old cabinet, which is solid wood and very nice. By using this lift mechanism, we can now do it. It works great...thank you so much!

When I built my wife's sewing center, I used this lift to conserve space in her hobby room. The sewing center can now be used for other purposes.
