Looking to add versatility and convenience to your Sewing Machine table or cabinet? With this Sewing Machine Lift Mechanism, your sewing machine can emerge from within the table then simply retract, concealing within the table again when not in use. A latch securely locks the mechanism in place to create a steady platform that is adjustable to your choice of two different working heights. The airlift mechanism mounts to the underside of your table top and the back of the cabinet. Mechanism is designed to lift and lower a sewing machine up to 30-35 lbs. in weight. Mechanism can be adjusted to fit most free arm sewing machines.

When I was looking at sewing cabinets, they were pricing in over 2,000$ for what I wanted. Looking at the brochures and the help of this item, I was able to produce a large sewing cabinet with a Ton of workspace, this lift, and other features for well under 500$ including wood, lift, other hardware, stain, and poly for final finish. It's held up durrably for at least 10 years now. When I injured my shoulder, I was still able to get my machine in place by simply pushing down on the top of the machine and letting the lift raise it for me. If you're making a sewing cabinet for yourself or someone else, this product is a MUST!

I had a custom cabinet built for my serger and chose this lift for the price and the way it looked like it would go into the cabinet. My cabinet maker was extremely impressed with the quality of the lift and that it was German made. It went into the cabinet well and has plenty of depth adjustability for my serger. I am very pleased with the way it works.

I am very impressed with how well-made the lift is, and how smoothly it operates. The instructions are minimal, but the lift is so easy to install, adjust and use that they are not really needed.
I would not have spent this much without actually trying this lift from any other source but Rockler. This is a great product and well-worth the price.

Wife loves them. I upgraded her serger table and a regular machine table. I had to move the lower stretcher and added a horizantal brace to attach the lower bracket. The instructions didn't fit this application but appeared to be plain and easy to follow. The lifts were also very easy to adjust for the correct height.

This is a wonderful addition to my new craft room. The lift is installed at the end of my large display case/desk top. The installation went very well and I am very happy with it.

I bought the sewing machine lift mechanism about 2 months ago to install on an office desk that I am converting into a sewing machine cabinet. I installed it last week after putting it off all this time. I am a novice woodworker and was concerned it would be too difficult to install and align. I had read a number of complaints about the fact that the lift doesn't bring enough installation instructions. I install it and adjusted it to fit my cabinet and Brother Innov-80 sewing machine with no problem. The instructions could not be simpler. The mechanism is heavy but even I a petite woman was able to move it. I did need to have someone hold it while I marked the holes and placed the screws. Even this could be done by one person alone, if you lay the cabinet on its back. It is a great product.

I ordered this through my local Rockler store and used the lift in an early 1950s sewing machine cabinet. The ease of installation and adjustment amazed me. We have a Bernina 730e and we can lower and raise the machine with little effort. This is a great product.

I installed the lift in a reconfigured 43" X 60" desk purchased at Goodwill for $12.50 on furniture half off day. I turned the right hand pedestal 90 degrees and bolted it to the left hand pedestal, added a corner leg and 5 no-mar swivel 4" rubber wheels. The top insert removes so the machine, on its little wood platform, can be raised for sewing at different heights. With the inset in it makes a great cutting table. The desk top height is 28". Most sewing tables are too high [30"] for back comfort. I am 5'5" and I can now sew for hours without a back ache. The lift itself can be a little stubborn to operate, but after 4 years it still works every time. Be sure you adjust the lift height for optimum surface contact with the desk for flat sewing. You cannot buy a sewing desk like this [with 26" deep dovetailed drawers], so I finally built the one I dreamed of and recycled this big desk in the process!

This was the finishing touch for my new sewing cabinet built by a wonderful cabinet maker. It is terrific and is very easy to adjust. I have a sensitive back and lifting the machine put absolutely no pressure on it. Thank you for providing such a fine product.

I purchased the lift and plans for my wife. The plans were modified to meet the need. The lift has worked every time and makes the cabinet that much better. My wife has been very happy with her sewing cabinet and has a few friends green because they can not purchase one like it.
The cabinet is made of maple with the lift board framed in cherry. I inserted a tile in the right flip lid for use of an iron.

I am very impressed with this lift, at this price. I'm building a sewing cabinet for my wife, as I've found that any grade above 'cheap pressboard quality' is well over the $1,200 mark. I've been looking for a decent air lift, and most manufacturers don't seem to sell them direct, and the ones that were available are over $300 for the lift alone.  I was unsure what I was getting, but expected quality from Rockler. It arrived this week - this is the same Horn brand airlift that is available elsewhere for $350+, and used in their $2,000 tables. I am thoroughly impressed at the quality and price.

We had been trying to find a way to put my sewing machine head into my grandmother's old cabinet, which is solid wood and very nice. By using this lift mechanism, we can now do it. It works great...thank you so much!

When I built my wife's sewing center, I used this lift to conserve space in her hobby room. The sewing center can now be used for other purposes.

I received the mechanism as a Christmas present. My son in law installed it in an old table that I am using for sewing. I love it.

Very nice lift mechanism. I'm using 2 in an antique buffet to lift a 40lb arcade control panel to the proper height. Had to tie them together with angle iron, but, with the easy height adjustments and the strong lifting power, the mechanism worked out great. Very smooth, very solid, and the lift force is perfect out of the box.

The lift mechanism works very well--once I figured out how to adjust it. I wish there had been more complete instructions. I accidentally tripped the return mechanism and almost damaged a finger. But once the lift was set and adjusted, it worked beautifully.

I am much impressed how easy it was to install and how easy it is for my wife to raise and lower sewing machine. This unit realizes multiple stops or hight adjustments for the sew machine so the unit is very versatile

The Rockler tech support rep answered my questions prior to purchase so that I was confident that the sewing machine lift would work in a retrofit of my wife's old Singer cabinet. The project went smoothly and we are very happy with the result.

I spoked with customer service rep. who advised that screws are not included with the lift because people could use wood with various thickness. She gave the screw information I needed. She was very heplful searching for this information. Now my next step is to purchase the screws.

The sewing machine lift is excellent. I installed it in a 40 year old Singer sewing machine cabinet. I had some difficulty with the installation because there are no written instructions for the installation of this lift. A schematic with measurements is included, but it was of little use to me because none of the measurements fit my situation. The back of my cabinet is open and the support across the top is too far back for the opening in the cabinet top. I constructed a spacer to take up the extra space at the top, but my measurements are not the same as those on the schematic. The lift works well with the way that I have installed it. I also had to make a bottom support that connected my cabinet's back leg with the drawer section. To connect the two cabinet parts left me with another space problem. The bottom of the lift would not be perpendicular to the top of the cabinet. This resulted in creating another spacer to attach to the bottom support that I made. My new Brother machine fortunately fits through the space left by the retired Singer machine. I had to be certain that my supports were sturdy because it does take quite a bit of effort to lower the lift. I will be trying to adjust the tension on this lift. The Singer cabinet has an insert to use when the machine is stored in the cabinet. It fits into the top hole to make a flat cabinet top. I had to take the hinge mechanism apart, remove the center section and reinstall so that I could raise the lift to the upper most position. All of this seems like a lot of work, but the cabinet is made of wood and not the pressed board stuff of today. The drawers are all dove-tailed and it would be a shame to not use this cabinet. Additionally with very careful measuring, the original space in the top of the cabinet allows me to put the dust cover that came with my new Brother machine over the sewing machine before I push it down into the storage level. Be sure to adjust the levels so that you are able to sew over a flat surface and also at the top level for open arm sewing. This is a very sturdy and well made lift. It would have been helpful to have written directions with tolerance measurements for the installation of the lift. Very few of the original measurements from the included schematic are now the same with my installation. If you are good at finagling and Rube Goldberg is one of your best buddies, you will be able to install this successfully.

Installation of this lift was much easier than expected. Directions for adjustment would have been nice, but the mechanism was pretty straight forward. My wife loves the sewing cabinet I built her. The three heights (full up/table level & storage) allow to her get full use out of her sewing machine.
