The heart of the AAA+ Home Smart Center is its control panel, which can be placed on a desk or wall mounted. You'll use the control panel to program the system's passwords and emergency numbers to be dialed; you can program trigger sensors to specific zones in your home using the control panel, as well. The control panel can be in either of two modes: alert mode or alarm mode. Set it to alert mode when someone is home. The control panel will provide notification of triggered sensors by voice announcement, LED flashing, and beeping the number of times corresponding to the triggered zone (the beeping can easily be disabled if desired). Each zone can program up to two sensors; with five zones, you'll be able to connect up to 10 sensors in your home. In addition to the two door/window sensors and the motion sensor included with the kit, a variety of sensors is available: There's a water leak sensor to prevent a flooded house if a pipe bursts and a garage sensor to remind you that the door is open. These additional sensors are all sold separately. For larger homes or for remote sensors, adding a wireless signal booster / repeater is a good way to add reliability to the system, so you'll be sure to receive an alert the moment your home is breached. Switch the system to alarm mode on the control panel or with the included keychain remote as you leave your home. If you have multiple entrances, you can install an extra Keypad Control at each. If a break-in should occur in alarm mode, the control panel will call up to five preprogrammed phone numbers to deliver an emergency message, and the siren will sound. Enter your password on the control panel or use the keychain remote disarm button to disarm the system when you arrive home. Up to five keychain remotes can be programmed to the control panel. One is included with the kit; additional keychain remotes are sold separately. You can even install a Keypad Transmitter to open the door using a pass code instead of the handheld remote. The control panel can be accessed and operated remotely using any touch-tone phone to arm or disarm the system, control lights or appliances, or check the system status. These tasks can also be performed if the control panel calls you when triggered. Up to five control modules can be connected to the control panel, which can control their loads directly, as well. If a sensor is triggered, you can also program the control panel to transmit a signal to activate a designated control module. Use this feature to turn lights on when you open the front door. Three different kinds of passwords can control this wireless alarm system. Use the master password for programming, arming, disarming, and phone access; a secondary password can be used for everything but programming. As an added security feature, you can program a special duress password to use when you are forcibly compelled by an intruder to disarm the control panel. Entering the duress password will stop the siren from sounding, but the control panel will silently call the emergency phone numbers for help. For additional security, add a secondary Audio Alarm for AAA+ (sold separately). This 130dB alarm can even be placed outside your home to extend your alarm range.
