My large shop is certainly a lot cleaner now that I have this Dust Right Master System. It is so easy to use and store that I hardly use my shop vac any more.

I have set this system up to make the most out of my small shop. My shop is in my basement, and to make room for everything, most of my tools have to be on mobile bases. I was able to mount my dust collector a Jet 1.5 HP in the corner permanently, and run one dust right 21' hose directly out of there. The other inlet into the dust collector goes to piping that runs up the wall, and across the room, where it meets another dust right hose, 14' long. I also have a standard floor sweep next to the dust right hose.
The dust right hose is great because I can store it out of the way, and extend it to meet up with my mobile tools. Since I have 2 hoses, I keep one almost always hooked up to my table saw, while the other goes from band saw, to router table, to bench top sweep. Great product!

Overall I am very pleased with this product. Takes a little getting used to with the hose size, etc but well worth the trade off, it's like a shop vac on steroids. My small home shop has never been kept cleaner, easier.

I'm still trying to get my shop system finished, of which this will be a part of. Have only got to play with it a little bit but very impressed with it so far. Will provide a lot of flexibility and fill a need not taken care of by the typical dust collection system.

I had a shop wide system that I was just not pleased with because it did not have enough power to collect all the dust and saw dust/chips from lathe. When I saw the dust right advertised, I thought that might be the answer to my problem and indeed it is. I built the roll around cart for the system with some modifications and have made some modifications to the dust right system. On the floor sweep, I removed the grill because I have a cyclone collector in front of the vacuum system which collects all the big pieces in a trash can. I also added switches on the most used pieces of equipment that connect to a lone ranger switch system that originally was hooked up to the gates on my old system. This saves a lot of steps turning on and off the collector. All in all, I am very pleased with the dust right system because it has really reduced the dust in the air. Thank you.

I have only had it for a couple weeks, but it has already been helpful. I was using a solid piece of landscaping pipe and it was not a flexible as I had hoped. This has made all the difference in keeping dust and chips down.

Very pleased with this tool(Dust Right system). I added a 21 foot hose for my table saw and use the 28 foot unit to clean the shop. Since wall space is limited in my shop I built an attachment for my table saw to store the wand and hose. Works great and moves with saw. I move my saw to the center of the shop for most projects. My dust collector has two 4 inch ports and I just open one and close the other to clean the area around the saw.

Absolutely great product. Everything just as advertized. Only change I would make is the screen in the floor sweep. It tends to plug up if you try to pick up larger shavings such as those that might come from a planer or when jointing a wider surface. Still it is a very minor problem in the overall picture. I knew there was a good reason to go to Rockler first.

The Dust Right Master System is a dream. The system along with the light 21' hose allows me to clean up from a days work in minutes where it used to take hours. The 4" clamps allow me to store it up out of the way when not in use. It was a good investment and one I would gladly do again.

Felt like a great deal when I set it up. But as I move it from one machine to another it requires a slight twist to get it off and this caused the plastic handle to break. Had it less that a month when I noticed the crack in the handle. The floor extension does not stay in the handle.

Makes cleanup very easy and fast, I was somewhat frustrated with the screen in the pickup but found that I could pickup the larger scrapes in my shop and then simply unhook the pickup from the hose over a trash bucket and the larger pieces would fall into the trash bucket. I would like to see some other attachments for getting into smaller areas and the swivel adapter would be a nice addition to the kit.

Probably the best thing out there to clean up. I like the fact that it allows me to clean up very well with my collection system instead of a much less effective, screaming shop vac. The only thing I'd like to see is a swivel that would allow me to move around without the hose binding as a twist develops. Not a huge deal but you have to stop sometimes to work that out.

I bought this to hook up to my ShopNote made Cyclone ShopVac, that said I replaced several 3 blast gate drops and 4" black plastic expandable lines. Ever look at that thin black plastic expandable line up close, if you look up into the hose you see lots of bright dots, holes... enought said, I could not wait to get rid of it. The New vinyl hose is rugged, hope it lasts as well as it looks. Try as I might a can only work one station at a time, so the one drop is all thats needed, I more or less took the line to the middle are on a wall and installed the Dust Right Bracket and 21' hose system, that baby is a Boa, she can get to where I need it. She needs a small amount of help when stowing, but it works and the over-all look of my shop has never been nicer. I included a 4" swivel in the hose next to the gate, this seems to releave lateral pressure on my wrist when using the short sweeping attachment, definite add now or later. Glad I chose the Master System.

I love the performance of the Dust Right system but I am having a problem with the connection to my power tools. The handle connector won't stay connected to several of my power tools because the fit isn't tight enough. I have had to resort to using duct tape to secure the connection.
Editor's note: We have to consider tool ports on woodworking machines. As much as we'd like them to be, the fact is they are not standard in size. There are slight variations in size from manufacturer to manufacturer and tool to tool. Note that our Dust Right Tool Ports are not an all plastic mold. They are designed specifically with a rubber boot as an integral part of them, which gives the flex needed to fit the variations of port sizing manufacturers produce. To secure that flexible rubber boot to the molded plastic part of the fitting a minimum depth of lip is needed for a proper grip of rubber to plastic. By offering the Dust Right Tool Ports we are supplying a way to bring the non-uniform sizing of machine ports to a uniform size so that one can easily use the Dust Right Handle to switch from machine to machine.

I have a central vac system that's piped to all my machine so I use this with super flexible hose and works very good. It does a great job of allowing me to clean up the stray dust around the shop floor and the benches Unfortunately, the handle and the bench top brush separated at the manufacturing joints. The fabrication isn't tough enough for general use. Instead of contacting customer service to get new ones, I just popped the parts apart the rest of the way and added some instant glue to the joints and put them back together again. No failure since. The big complaint I had is with screws that come for the brackets. I drilled pilot holes and the screws still snapped in two half way in. Luckily they didn't snap at head when they were driven down tight so I was able to remove them with vice grips. After 3 broke, I disposed of the rest and used standard hardware store quality screws of the same type without any problems. Those who complain about the connection, please just create one adapter and attach it to your Dust Right and all you ports will work. You build jigs you can do that too.

Bought this for my shop as a clean up tool in conjuction with my dust collection system. Works great. You can get full extention but will experiance pull back from the vacuum thus reducing true useful length. Was disappointed that the fittings did not work with standard 4" vacuum fittings. I made adapters. The brush in the brush attachment came loose but was easily fixed. Still a little pricey for what you get.

I checked out many different units and this one by far exceeds what I was looking for. This system takes up very little space, has ample vacuum power and is a multiple use system.
The only thing I need to work with, and I know it is a safety feature, is when I am routing, the bigger pieces that chip off the boards, get stuck in the screen by the Collector.
This system greatly reduces the dust in the room where I am working.
All in all great product. So if you want to upgrade or start your business, this Master System from Rockler will definitely meet your need. Thanks Rockler for a great product.

Product works very well for dust and fine debris, but shavings and larger waste get caught by the floor attachments grid. Manipulating the 4" apparatus in my small shop requires some effort. Despite these quibbles I would recommend this to anyone that's fed up with unplugging their shop vac.

[my]fit of the long tube for the floor sweep attachment is loose in the handle. Two wraps of electrical tape about 2 1/2" from the end of the tube has fixed that however, and I don't see it as a major issue at all. I also had to remove the 'screen' from the inside of the floor sweep attachment. It got plugged the first time I used it on shavings from a hand plane. I use a separator on my dust collector, so pieces making it thru to the impeller aren't an issue here. It would have been nice if that screen was removable without having to cut it out so that it could be put back if the need ever arose in the future.
I found the ease of attachment to the machines in my shop a welcome change from my old 'loosen the hose clamp and move the hose' method. The taper fit of the handle onto the machine ports is very effective, and only requires a small effort to make the connection. Too much force putting it together makes them difficult to disconnect.
I've been looking for a solution like this for a long time, and while this doesn't cross off all the items on my wish list, it comes very close.

I like it, my shops never been cleaner. I rated it good because the floor nozzle doesn't stay attached to the tube like it should and because the floor nozzle is difficult to slide along my floor as the concrete is a bit rough. I recommend investing in the 21' hose and hose storage rack. It's a little awkward but worth the money.

Very Good, indeed! Now I don't have to pull the dust collection system all over the shop to accomplish my aim. Editor's note: Please be sure that you're inserting the 36" long extension tube inside the larger end of the Dust Right handle. The smaller diameter end is the incorrect end to use for the tube. The smaller end is the end you'll clamp your flex-tubing to.

I have used the attachments and hose for over a year now with a Delta dust collector and it is fair system. The floor extension falls off the handle pretty regularly which is a pain. It should have some type of twist on mechanism. The hose rack is also very inadequate. The magnets to not come close to holding the hose in place. It is a good idea but needs some work.

The dust right master system is exactly what I need and wanted. The only complaint I have which is not your fault as you do not fabricate them is the 4" clamps. Two of the 5 in the plastic bag were bent out of shape making them impossible to use. How they got by the inspectors where they where manufactured beats me. Lucky for me I had some extra clamps. Everything worked like a charm.

This is a great product! Before I would have to sweep the piles to an external floor sweep. My only complaint is that the floor attachment does not have bristles. If it had the little brush like vacuums and shop vacs it would pick up all dust; even out of the cracks in my garage shop floor. Highly recommended!!

The unit works well in picking up dust. The problem is the connection to the dust connector; a ten foot hose is too short to reach all but the immediate area adjacent to the collector and a twenty foot hose is too heavy to lug around the shop.
Editor's note: We've come up with our new 24719 expandable/compressible hose to solve this problem. This one-of-a-kind hose extends 7 time it's length to approximately 21 feet for easy maneuvering and far-reaching cleanup, then compresses back down for easy storage.

A great addition to my shop. Now I can have my Delta 850 Dust Collector in one place, and with the Dust Right™ 4" Expandable Hose, I can keep my shop dust free, without a lot of fuss.
The components are of nice quality, but the floor tool does not fit tight enough in the extension wand (again, a wrap of electrical tape arount the collar, and all is well). Another minor complaint, is the quality of the screws provided for mounting the wall clips. You would think that with an item of this quality, the screws provided would not have the phillips slots round out when screwing in to a 2X4 wall stud.
All things considered, for those of us with small shops (mine is 20'X16'), with space at a premium, this is a very well organized system that works as advertized.

This is a great product. My only problem is that the floor nozzle does not fit snugly into the handle and tends to work its way out with use.At least it is this way with my one. An easy fix was to apply a piece of duct tape so as to tighten the fit. Apart from that it is a great addition to my work shop.
Editor note: floor nozzle in this item is not intended to be connected directly to handle. The bench nozzle is designed to fit directly to handle, however for the floor nozzle one is to insert it in the 36" extension and then insert the extension into the handle.

Isn't anyone concerned about vacuuming up a dropped screw or nail which will bang into the dust collector's impeller possibly damaging it or, worse yet, creating a spark?
I believe that a shop vac with a Hepa filter is much better suited to shop cleanup as it has much more suction at higher static pressures, can pickup foreign objects without being damaged, doesn't support a potentially exposive fine dust cloud, and is mobile and self-contained if there were any problem.
Seems to me that this Dust Right system can be dangerous if not used on a two-stage dust collector and even then you still have the explosive dust potential if the collector was not sized properly.
Editor's note: Thank you for your comments. You raised a valid concern. The Dust Right system is designed to provide a compact solution for woodworking operations that produce large quantities of chips and shavings. We do agree that a shop vac is a good choice for tools that produce small amounts of very fine dust, such as a sander. But a shop vac simply does not generate the air movement needed to effectively handle the volume of debris put out by many woodworking tools, nor is a vacuum effective at clearing up large amounts of debris from the floor or a workbench.
We urge all duct collection system owners to take care not to pick up screws or other foreign objects with Dust Right attachments, floor sweeps, etc. But we believe the risk of serious damage caused by the occasional overlooked screw to be slight. Research suggests that the risk of igniting wood dust with a single steel-on-steel spark is also very low. A separator, as you point out, can be used to help isolate larger pieces of debris from a dust collector's moving parts, and will also increase the capacity of the system.

The floor sweep has a grate or screen on it and this is quickly filled or jammed with small wood bits or shavings and is inoperative until the system is turned off and the grate cleaned. Very inefficient.
The 4 inch flex hose is very heavy with a lot of recoil so it is a two hand operation to move forward and to work around the corners of machinery.
One would think that the kit would contain 2 hose clamps to connect the system to one's existing ducts and thus save a trip to the hardware store.
Editor's note: No need for a trip to the hardware store, The hose clamps that you'll need to purchase are listed right here in this offering.

This set up allows me to suck up amazing amounts of dust and debris quickly.
The instructions on how to get it all hooked up efficiently are vague. The 20 foot hose is flexible but much heavier than I expected it to be. It is somewhat difficult to "muscle around".
Cutting out the filter "grid" on the "claw" shaped attachment is essential to avoid clogs of coarser shavings and small wood scraps.
The hanger fixtures make it handy to hang the hose and attachments up and keep them out of the way.
Over all I would get this set up again. It has cut the time of vacuuming my shop to about one fourth of what it was before.
I agree with the brush suggestion and possibly some small wheels to cut down the exertion needed to manuever the vacuum.

I have to agree with others here that the extension tube does not fit securely enough onto the handle. It's constantly coming apart while in use. I will most likely set up some sort of external Velcro strap to easily secure and detach the tube to the handle. I must say, once you hold everything in place, it sucks up floor dust nicely. But then again so would a cardboard tube if it was hooked up to my 2HP Oneida.

If you have a decent shop vac, don't bother unless you have a full blown 4" vacuum system set up. I got the Master System and the collapsible hose. I have a 1 1/2 HP two stage dust collector. I really dislike the floor sweep. It's huge, heavy, too much square area (so does not pick up small chunks of wood), narrow in width, hard to take apart, has an annoying mesh that clogs too easily (that I am going to snip out) and doesn't really pick up very well. The floor sweep will not fit under any tool, does not work on any sort of carpet (for me, an indoor/outdoor mat to collect dust by the stairs). It's best use is to pick up large piles of sawdust which a shop broom can do just as well. The bench brush is much better. Still will not do carpet but it does scrub the surfaces and removes sawdust that the floor brush simply cannot do (wall/floor corners for instance). Much easier to take apart and picks up better than the too much area of the floor sweep. Much easier to maneuver.
The hose reminds me of a "Wild Kingdom" show where Jim had to wrestle with a python. I have to stretch the hose away from it resting place before trying to move around corners. Its extremely well made but that means heavy. I was finding myself with the hose hanging over my shoulder to make it reach all too often. Tough to mount to tools (at least when new).
Unfortunately, all of my tools have too small dust ports so the rest of the kit is useless. So what is better? My Festool shop vac with the floor brush and other accessories. Does the carpet perfectly, fits under all the tools, does the corners, fits most of my tools (random orbit sanders, band saw, miter saw, belt sander, etc.), and the crevice tool and brush will clean anywhere.
Bottom line, cleaver idea but the floor sweep needs a narrower and wider head that pivots or bends or something. I like the idea of the easily movable handle but have no place to use it except for the floor brush and the bench brush. Now I need to get a good hood collector for my table saw and then this would be a much better tool for me.

I have experienced the connectivity problems with the handle and wand. Aside from this annoying issue I found two more things that were issues that I had to overcome in order to use it effectively. The hose connection to the impeller connection caused a kink to happen evert time I stretched it out resulting in a clogged up hose at the connection point. I corrected this problem by installing a 90 degree elbow at that connection point. Second, the weight is so great that it made efficient cleaning in and around my machines a struggle especially when you loose your attachments all the time. To correct, I ordered the 2-1/2" hose (Item # 32989) with swivel ends to attach to the existing 4" hose and use my shop vac attachments to clean up around my machines. Overall, great concept.

Overall I am pleased. One nuisance problem. Sometimes when I attach the handled unit to the plastic part of the Rockler adapter it becomes jammed and then when attempting to extract it, the plastic part of the adapter pops out of the rubber part. It is time consuming and very inconvenient to separate the two plastic pieces. To solve this problem I hope I can use some kind of lubricant or just be careful not to push the handled unit in too far.

The 4'-28' hose is heavy and awkward. If you use the wall mounted storage rack you'll find that trying to get the thing stuffed in is like wrestling a boa constrictor - large and mostly unmanageable. Also consider that the hose and handle are over 4' long and if you mount the storage bracket with the bottom at 36" from the floor, the blast gate will be over 7' off the floor - out of reach for me.
The 4" wand is slick and practically impossible for me to grasp with one hand. I've roughed up the outside to provide a better grip and am considering fabricating a handle to give me better control.
If you're considering buying this set up, seriously take a step back and consider if you wouldn't be better served to invest in a good shop vac and long hose. They're more maneuverable and can do both floors and tools. Besides, do you really need the power of a 4" dust collector to suck the paint chips off the floor.

I think it is definitely useful for picking up large wood chip messes from the floor. I do find the hose cumbersome if you are trying to sweep up, especially when it gets near end of extension. I have same complaint as others that the end does not fit a lot of tools and has to be taped or otherwise adapted. I find the large floor sweep does not do as good a job as the small head. Also I am 6-3 and the extension wand is short for me. I plan to go ahead and run dedicated lines to most of my equipment and use this for the tools I use occasionally. Overall I find more comfortable and efficient to just use my shop vac for floor clean up and the tight spaces in and around tools. If I did over again I would just order hose and not bother with sweep tools.

I've had this system for about 4 months and use it a lot I also have a bench brush. The unit handle work good for maneuvering around with a 4 inch hose and the flexible hose is a lot more forgiving. I like the 4 inch because I'm picking up sawdust and chips and the large tube lowers the velocity but improves the volume. This leaves behind large chunks of wood and also screws etc. I gave it a 3 because the snap together handle popped apart a couple of times and I eventually used instant glue to hole them together.

This is the best floor cleaning tool I've used but there are some issues. What really ticks me off is I had to buy new Dust Right connectors for all (six) bigger tools so that I could continue to hook my portable collector up to them. Why can't manufacturers come up with a standard connection size and shape? The flex hose is a great idea but it's heavy and doesn't stretch easily enough.
